Sava Sprint & May's Birthday!!!

Argh, never in my life felt so terrible after a dragonboat race, usually after a race, despite not bringing any medal home, there is still a sense of achievement coz our team would always bring home something, but this time round our team not only didn't bring anything back, worse, coz we perform seriously under expectation. Reason being the ratio of newbies and experienced people are almost on par... Guess there is lots to train if we wan to win in November. AND I WANT MY GOLD MEDAL!!!

This weekend have been really busy, had Sava Sprint and May's birthday to attend... practically exhausted when I got home sunday. This is how things went...

Saturday, got up early as I need to get to Bedok reservior @ 10 am, dropped of at Eunos and so happend to see Dawn (fellow DBter) so hitched a ride to the place... got there, helped set up and waited for the race. I was in the Men's Open Division, and was chosen pacer (meaning the very front of the boat setting the pace of the row) for that boat, heavy responsibility and stressful as its my very first time, and i am pretty sure I am not up to it coz I have always been the "engine" of the boat till this race. But i left it as it is coz i am sure Wayne (captain) had his reason for putting me there.

Anyway, as i said, the results wasn't very ideal, and since its such a short race for Sat (200m) everything was very competitive and i guess we lost out due to lack of competitive experience. The day ended relatively early for me, so i made an early exit as I need to attend May's birthday that evening. Got over to Tampines SC to get a shower before heading over to the chalet, didn't wanna go all sexy in my dragonboat wear. heez, den loiter around at tampines for awhile, didn't wanna be the first to be there, got some wine to share at the party. By the time i got there, some of them were already there, so yeah... spent the evening taking pictures talking crap like what we used to do in poly... haha missed those good old days.

Anyway, we chatted till about 3 plus, den went to cheers @ downtown east, when we return it was already 4am, and i needed some rest before the race. Got up 615am, wash up and left for race ground again... As usual got there pretty early, so kinda rested while waiting. The race for the day was sightly longer compared to Sat, its 500m. Slightly tougher but definately more fun coz you can really feel the exhaustion when u touch the finish line, the grasping for air and all. In one of my race, one of the paddlers paddle even snapped into 2 when we charged off at the starting point, making us handicapped by one, but we still carried on as there was no time to pass him a spare. By the time we passed the finish line, there was no air in my at all man, i was so drained that i almost passed out... lucky for me i didn't, got back to the tent, grab a drink and i am ok again. After the entire event ended, we all headed to John Magrath (chairman of the team) new apartment, and i tell you, its beautiful man... pool table, swimming pool.. haha its a full bungalow. Got a little debrief session from Wayne, and him being encouraging always, was still very kind with his use of words so as to not dampen everyone's spirits. But having known him for so long, can tell his disappointment. haiz, felt like I have let him down, so have to really work my ass out for November.

Hmm... yah guess thats all that happened over the weekend, went to do some shopping just now, retail theory sure feels good after not doing do for awhile... but well i guess its only once in a blue moon since now that I am pretty much jobless. Alrighty i guess that all... will share the photos some other day, there seem to be a problem with the photo function.. Cheers

A little bit of Langkawi and Phuket... Day 3

Hey, good morning everyone!!! must be wondering why I am so early today right? well okok not very early already but earlier then i usually comes online, heez, well the reason being i just came back from a run with my 2 friends Angie and Jessie, haha Angie initated it, so i obliged, went for a little jog/brisk walk around gardens. The air is fresh and since we were going really slow, got time to enjoy the view around us.

Got home like an hour ago, took a good warm shower before coming online, haha refreshed and really to start of the day, which basically have nothing in plan at the moment... hehez... maybe dropping by town to get stuff and maybe some photos developed. Wanted to get down yesterday but went to check out Alvin's Muay Thai Class instead. Its some cool stuff man... make me so want to start lor... but guess i won't until after wisdom tooth extraction i guess... which is about 2 weeks away, haiz get it done and over with... hopefully will still stay smart, haha already cannot get any dumber anyway so nothing to lose... heez...

Ok, back to the trip, day 3, must be thinking i would slp in as it was a long night from phuket right? WRONG, haha i still got up at 7 in the morning, did my gym regime before showering and had breakfast, by 10 we gathered as we dock Langkawi, and my parents have booked a tour. Really wanted to stay on board thou, as the sun was superb for a good tan... but tagged along since its already paid for. Cannot really stand the tour guide for this trip thou, kept repeating the words Langkawi, even my mum got worried we will get nightmare of the place that night... haha

Anyway, first stop, Eagle Park, that is how Langkawi got its name apparently, "Lang" which means bird, in this case the eagle, and "Kawi" is marble, the colour of which the eagles. And according to the guide, once pple see picture of this eagle, they will know that you've been to Langkawi, so here it is...

And here are some of the scenic view around...

Other then that was some shopping around those duty free shops, which as usual i didn't get anything, mainly the reason is there is nothing much to buy and yah parents not around when there is... no paitence... haha but nvm lah, since its pretty much their trip, i tagged along so no complains... heez... Its was captain's night so we had to dress better for this evenings dinner. here is a family pic of us at our dining area.

Oh oh and some pics of sunset, breath taking man...

That pretty much ends my trip, not forgetting a small episode of allerge, haha but shall not get into details. Overall, its a good trip i would say... very relaxing and a different class of life to what i am having now... hehez...

A little bit of Langkawi and Phuket... Day 2

Day 2 of the trip, started off the day at 730am, had a little difficulty slping, maybe not used to the constrain in the space as i slept on the upper deck, but well still manage to catch a few hours rest, thats one thing army have taught me, sleeping in the worse conditions. haha...

Started off my day with a little workout in the gym, to my amazement, there are already people working out, too bad i didn't take picture of the gym, but imagine this, running machines faceing the vast ocean, the view was awesome, anyone who steps in there won't wanna leave... As for me, i head straight for the free weights corner, did some stretching and start pumping some iron... haha the gym attendent was very friendly, one friend i made on board... And after sweating it out, went back to my room hit the showers before going for my breakfast at Belle Vista. here is how my first breakfast looked like...

Can't get any better than that right... haha and its right beside the window, so u get good food and good view at the same time... really enjoyable. Whats best, its buffet style... haha so there is more from where those came from... haha. Haven't been so pampered for such a long time.

After that fulfilling meal, spent the rest of the day walking around the decks, casino, and explore their different facilities. In the evening, the ship docked over at Phuket where we had our day tour and have to be back by 130 am, so we disembarked, and got on with the tour.

First stop, a buddhist temple on Phuket, not sure if its the only one, but its beautiful, and there is a legend behind it, which is quite interesting....

And some "artistic" ones too

Afterwhich, was the Cashew Nut Factory, where they showed us the processing of cashew nuts, and of course being a healthy snack, my parent bought a few packs under abit of influence (from me that is). Presenting to you, the world's largest cashew nut!!!

Then we head off for dinner at their local restraunt and afterwhich was to Patong beach for some SHOPPING!!! haha, and i guessed you guys won't believe me, but i didn't buy a single item... some minor hiccups between my parents and being sandwiched in between, there is nothing much i can do but kept quiet and glance through stuff... tempted at certain times, but well its hard to shop with impatient parents around, get wat i mean... hehez.. Enough on that, at least the evening ended off in a good note with "Simon's Caberate" as the finale, aka "Ah Gua" Show... Honestly some of them really looked very good... and no wonder they prefer to be gers den guys... here is some picture i too with them after the show... Photographer was my dad.

Final picture with the tour guide of the day, Sally, very good tour guide, really know how make the trip really interesting and enriching for us...

That kinda wrap things up for Phuket, a place i will definately visit again, but definately not with my parents... haha... Ciaoz will have more coming on!!! Thats all for now...

A little bit of Langkawi and Phuket...

Argh.... back to normal life, haha must be thinking what i meant by that right? well, simple, have been living the life of Dao Ming Si (from Meteor Garden) for the past 4 days, everything a swap of a card... okok let me walk you through this little journey, from Sunday den...

Sunday
Woke up at 6 am and got ready for the Terry Fox Run, herbert drove so he came over the fetch me first... The weather was threatening, and true enough, shortly after we reached Tanjong Beach, it started drizzling, both of us was shivering man, they did some warm up in the rain (which is obviously useless, coz i didn't feel my body warming up) and i did some stretching to prevent muscle cramps. When the horn was blown, thats when the rain really came, not the cats and dogs type but close. However, the weather didn't dampened anyone's spirits, as everyone braved the rain. Was off with a rather good pace, with not out of breaths at all, was basically pacing herbert. However, when he lagged behind, i carried on running till about 5km, i allowed myself some rest to wait for him. Then we carried on awhile before i got ahead again. Kinda challenged myself every step of the way. Finally clocked a timing of 43min for 9km, not too bad for a first timer i suppose... Settled down and helped myself with the bananas and water, and waited for bert to run throu as well, he wasn't far behind me, still managed to clocked under an hour, so it ok... After that, spent quite alot of time on the beach to cool down, met up with angie and jessie, they did the 5km run and after they washed up we headed out of sentosa to get some food before i headed for my cruise. Got changed before boarding the ship. here is some shots when i got on board. As i was more or less alone with no friends with me, my pictures are pretty much taken myself, even those with me in it... haha...

Oh yah, still haven't tell you the cruise i was on, heez, but by the looks of it, i guess you know already yah... these are just some of their facilities on board. on their top deck, some other place like the gym (which i freqent, like everyday) is wonderfu. The staffs on board are all super friendly, making you feel really like an important guest. The food is fantastic, u name it they got it... really love the life on board... haha Dinner was by far my favorite, its at a place call Belle Vista, a very posh western restraunt on board, and the food portion thou look little, can really fill you up. There is where i had breakfast for the rest of my trip... hehez... there is a routine, every morning, gym den head back for a shower before going for my breakfast there. Thou its just 4 days, but the people at the gym and the restraunt already know hu i am, and the restraunt will prepare a seat near the window for me as soon as they sees me (unless there is no vacent that is). Very very sweet of them man. And thats that for day one... will carry on with 2 some other time... heez... tired man... tata and leave you with some pic of my first and only dinner (sadly) at Bella Vista.

The evening starts of with an appetizer called Anti Pasti, heez, ordered cause I donno what it is, but its not bad thou pretty nice. Then is the soup, chicken broth, den main course is Rib Eye steak (sinful) and ended off with apple struddle. yum

Dragonboat, den Mass buffet dinner? whats the point?

Argh!!! going over to my cousin house didn't seem like such a good choice neither, especially after a tough training of dragonboat... Guilty like hell now, wonder why i didn't felt like that that the dinning table just now... But staring down at my belly now, argh!!! its a disaster. Its been quite awhile since i last saw this friend of mine (refering to the belly). But hope he is not here to stay...

Anyway, training today was ok. Got some words of wisdom from The Man Yong (aka our coach), "A good start maybe important, but its a good finish that makes a difference..." Must say the team isn't as it was before, lots of good people left, alot more new faces and newbies in the boat, can say we are not at all prepared for the race, but guess it will be good experience for those first timers. Haiz, was really hoping to bring home a medal from the race, just hope that something like that is gonna happen next week, i really did put in the effort, but its a team sport afterall... Been up with my crazy AP again, really don't want it to happened but i guess no one is really into the competitive mood except me at the moment, felt abit detached from the group.... haiz... hopefully everything will turn out fine....

Tml is finally Terry Fox Run, first ever running event i took part in... really looking forward to it... after which, it will be a short trip for me to Phuket and Langkawi, guess i can really rest and relax now... Next week is race week... den is my Redang trip haha... seems like traveling abit yah... well i guess i better enjoy while i can, coz after that I will be on a liquid diet man... extraction of wisdom tooth, expected will not be able to makan for a few days... hehez, good good, can lose a few extra pounds too... Haiz feeling too guilty to actually go to bed now, guess i will take my time to pack up my stuff den go to bed den...

Thats all folks, be back on wed i tink, till den... take care of urself!!!

Bored, Band, Bad Choice?

Yawns, just got back from nyp band prac, not sure if its a good choice or what lor, was really bored at home, so thought just go down and have fun... haiz, guess didn't have that much of a fun lah, music and crowd wise was ok, but the killer for me today is ATTITUDE!!!

Haiz... i missed WMC days, where everyone listens to laoshi and laoshi is the stern and strict Mr. Luk i knew from RGS. Today, I can't see any of it, and people merely stepped all over him, talking while he is talking, making the place like wet market... haiz... What disappoints me most was that some of them talking are actually those that have been to WMC with me, those i assume have the basic respect for laoshi, i guess i was wrong....

First time saw Amelia blew her top over band today, scary man, to see a bubbly girl like her, losing it. Was so worried she will break down, luckily she didn't, phew... Guess it will be awhile more before i go back to that place lah... not sure if i wanna commit again with the current crowd... Can sense politics the moment i stepped into the room... which i hate... will have to take a step at a time i suppose...

Alright thats all folks, gotta go do some packing... Dekitting my stuff tml... heez... one more step closer to ORD lo!!! woohoo....

Aussie Aussie Aussie!!!

Was out to pour myself some water, when i so happen to see something that caught my eye on tv. Channel 8 aired a program that featured chinese tradition, and this week so happen to be dumpling festival, what caught my eyes was they feature dragonboat, and it was the AUSSIE team, MY team!!! heez...

Alright, maybe its not my team, but rather, the team i am with... Strange enough, when i am with them, i don't really blend in, but when as a team, i am more proud to be classified as them than any other expates. They i would say are the friendiest bunch of pple i have ever met man... not saying that the rest aren't, its just that with the aussies, there is a feel of family after awhile... hehez... I know i have been getting on everyone's nerves, guess the pressure of the race is really getting to me... I have been medalless for a very long while now... and i WANT it so badly i suppose... hopefully this race i will see my first.

Have been pretty bored lately, i guess the bum sickness is setting in on me... lucky for me the programs on my notebook are arriving, so it not that bored anymore. Brought Meteor Garden back to life again as I watch it all over again... Cannot remember the last time i watch ed it but there is sure alot of flaw to the show this time i watched it... Its honestly either the flim is under budget or taiwan rich can reach a certain limit... haha, for the owner of a multi billion organization to only travel in a mazda 3 is erm... abit unconvincing lah... and there was another part where Mei Zua (aka Vannese) was drinking Macdonald Tea. Who in the right frame of mind will drink Macdonald tea when you can afford things 100 times better... haiz... thrify rich kids... rare man... haha

Well i guess thats it for tonight... been training abit for sunday's run, kinda working on the stamina, hopefully its ok... haha legs are abit sore thou... maybe it the method i ran, but my shoes are already giving way... very fast indeed... Been trying out new running route, longer, more slopes as i proceed, but the sense of accomplishment when i complete them, priceless... heez.. Anyway, thats all for today i guess, going to bed soon i suppose... Night and its already MID WEEK!! which mean 2 more day to WEEKENDS!! woohoo!!!

Its been years...

Today, marks five years after the horrific tragedy of 9/11, as many mourn over this incident. Let us not forget those innocent lives that is lost and also the family members to those that have lost their love ones... My condolences to each and everyone of them...

Thinking of seeing the news 5 years today, its was like watching a Hollywood blockbuster, I honestly thought it was till new rings about it... Truely very shocking. I really don't wanna sound all "Miss Universe Pagent" and all, but i truely hope for world peace. Many lives have already been lost due to natural disaster, such as the Tsunami, and the many earthquakes happening all around the world. So what for add more death by killing one another... PEACE man pple...

Alright, more about today, I guess i have realised something, that whinning actually does more harm to my training den aid it. I totally lost form in doing stuff i regularly do in gym today. Reps are getting lesser, the weights i can handle dropped... haiz... i guess there is really not short cut on this journey of losing weight. Forgive me if this bores you, but well blog is a place where i vend out whatever that makes me vexed i guess when i haven't anyone to talk to... Blogging is actually my best friend currently. Sad to sad most friends are either too busy, or already vexed with their own problem, thus, blogging them out is my best option.

Tml, will be another busy day i guess... at least i hope... anyway guess thats all for today... phew feels good after every blogging session...

Alot of my friend have said I have already lose alot of weight... but i done really see much change to myself... ok maybe there is a drop of waist size, abit more muscles than i used to see... but i really cannot see the results i want... I know its no point whinning coz its won't help weight loss, but I am really trying very hard already... Now it seems like a stand still i really donno what to do...

Here are some of my photos from past to present... Never been disclosed for a longtime footage...

A good friend have left on a jet plane...

A good friend have gone on a long journey, about 2 years (or more) she will be there... Manchester to be specific... The moment she stepped into custom and pass those gates, a certain amount of emptiness just rised in me... an unspoken lost, a heartbreaking moment... when she bid farewell, i fought the tears in my eyes... making sure they are not seen by public, controlling my lips from trembling... hate those moments... thats y i dun like sending off.. unless i am the one going.... Farewell, my friend hope to see u real soon...

The spot for tanning kaki is open again, she used to be my tanning kaki, thou we dun do it often, but nevertheless, whenever i need a tan, she seemed to need one too, so naturally when i tink of going tanning, she is always on my too call list. So if you wanna be my tanning buddy, regardless guy/ger, just let me know k... heez...

Anyway, the week have been pretty ok with me, a little cough coming up... hopefully it won't affect my training... should be running for the Terry Fox Run, registering later on after dragonboat training today. Haiz... my body is getting further and further from my ideal, am i not pushing myself hard enough? I cannot think of another reason for it... what can i do to get a decent looking body that I have lost since birth!!! haiz... okok maybe not since birth... but since PRIMARY SCHOOL!!! Someone that can give me tips... now is a really good time... honest, i can really use some help now...

Well i guess thats all i have... plenty of stuff to buy, no money to buy them... thats how life goes yah.... heez... Ciaoz

Boredom Sets In...

This is the book that my fren got for me... haha when can i get that man... i wonder really, anyway was so free that I finished it the night i got it, must say the content is pretty easy to understand. I even sent Vincent Ng my comments after reading book. (well thats what he asked for, so I am just doing so), that shows how bored i am. Apparently, woked up today and checked my mail, and guess what, he replied lah, haha not sure if its was him personally but well a reply nevertheless... feel that it good to exchange pointers, not that I have alot to share, in fact i have alot to learn, but its through this kinda sharing that we learn more styles of working out, dieting and many many more. So yah, but i mean, if a few tips can earn me a bod like his... what is there to lose man... haha!!!

Haiz, still feels pretty sad for the lost of Steve Irwin, was a fan of his show, thou he can be pretty drama at times, but can tell that he treat nature with love and respect. Great man lost like that, leaving behind 2 really really young kids... He will be remembered for many years to come.

Was died bored today, was thinking of going to gym, but yesterday session have gave me abit of a sore, guess i really did worked it out.... thus rest them abit. But staying at home made me nibble on stuff, and my mouth never seems to stop. Start munching nuts, fruits, and all that... haha... Evening, couldn't take it no longer, so went for a run, and did the circuit i did on sunday, onli one lesser set this time around, considering i still have gym tml...heez.. dun wanna over tire myself, just wanna make sure i can still run. Cause might be going for the Terry Fox Run with my buddy, oh yah since i am on this topic, might as well talk abit on it... There is The Run Of Hope aka Terry Fox Run to raise fund on research for cancer, its 25 buck per adult, on the 17th of sept (coming sunday) morning at Tanjong Beach, Sentosa. If you are interested to go for it, here is the link. Its all for a good cost... http://www.runforhopesingapore.org/index.htm

Ok lah, that pretty much wrap up my boring day... here are some image of my dream body line... haha notice the keyword is DREAM k...hehe... girls dun drool on ur keyboard arh...

Bossy Syndrome!!!

OMG!!! its happening to me... I am in the bossy mode again... haiz, i thought i lost it since my secondary school time, its kinda got back during my term in army, and its giving me problem getting rid of it... haiz... always caused me to give people a bad impression...

1st incident was during DB training yesterday, during training, i was yelling commands all over, at time even overwriting commands that Yong (our coach) gave... not sure if he mind. After training, was fustrated by the fact that the boat was not straight on the trailer, so was making quite abit of noise, while everyone is already putting alot of effort, sort of got the hint from Hazel before i shut this big fat gap of mine... feel really bad man... shit, hopefully they dun have a bad impression of me... I AM SOooOOOooo sorry.

2nd incident will have to be today at gym, my fren Chee Yong was kind enough to come join me, but got told off my me for slacking half the time he was there... guess he reminded me of myself when i first start to pick up weight training... my fren used to tell me off coz i too spent half the time slacking, walking about doing nothing in the gym...

Argh... please go away... i dun like u Bossy Attitude... shoo... help me!~!~

Tired Sunday....

This must be one of the most tiring sunday i have in ages... but a very good one indeed... one that is well spent...

Was procrastinating on going for dragonboat this morning, as i have been having all those weird dreams that kept my mind awake all night... but finally managed to drag my body off the bed, took a shower and head down to Kallang. Reached there at about 915am, Mina and this another guy... can't really recall his name, but anyway, they were the only one there... Naturally, that worries me abit as training should start at 930am and there was no crowd... anyway it dragged till about 945 when about a total of about 10 was there, including Yong, our coach... so we just went off, pretty sure there wasn't going to be people coming for the morning session. Did abit of short running as warm up, and when we reach our circuit area, we go through what we call the "SAS, Aussie Special Force" training regime, basically we complete each station with a certain number of reps, and after the entire regime, we rest for a min, we start a new set but with each station reduced 2 reps... haha sounds easy? there is like 8 stations man, done one after the other with no breaks in between... was really pumping it out man... after 5 rounds of that, we could either walk or slow jog back, and not wanting to waste my effort i slow jog, but ended with a little sprint with a fellow member, just for the fun of it... after that we went out for a paddle, with quite a warm up before that... Everything was against us today, the scorching hot weather, the choppy waters due to events happening at the indoor stadium, so training was extra tough, and me not having enough water with me, made training HELL... after we return to shore, i was like half dead, with blisters on my hands, coz i was switching paddles during training and i guess that was cause by the friction. Anyway, took a shower and met dennis in town, and i must say, he is forever the same, made appointment with me @ 130pm, but showed up at about 2 pm... haha had sakea sushi where i bumped into my campmates Eric and gang... haha didn't know they are so happpening, even meet up over weekends... Dennes was kind enough to buy me a copy of Vincent Ng's training guide, and it is even signatured... haha thx man... felt kinda bad that out of the blue i recieve something, so i treat him to lunch instead...

After which, we just went walking window shopping and dennes gets stuff for his fren's birthday... hehez, shop til about 7 plus when i decide i can walk no futher, and we decide to head home... Got home, warm up so of that leftover pasta i had yesterday and eat... yah that pretty much ends my day, tired tired tired, legs, arms everywhere... tml gym session will be slightly more relax i guess... heez... Anyway till tml, its Ryan signing off!!!

Home cooked food

Ok now back to my home cooked meal section... heez... Went dragonboat today, after training was wondering what to have for dinner, or who i can meet up for dinner, ended up no one to meet for dinner, and didn't want to have bread, since i had that for the past few days, okok weeks, heez.. so went to cold storage, grab some pasta, sause, vege and some chicken breast, whipped it up for a "own cooked" meal instead... heez..

Here is how i look, taken during free time while waiting for things to cook... heez...

My pasta for the evening...

The sauce with some yellow and green pepper in it...

Boiled Broccolis, heez, its became my favorite man... since donno when, used to hate them

Chicken bits, just to make the dish a little less vegetarian, thou i am perfectly fine if it was... heez...
And this is what u get putting it altogether.. with a touch of cheeze....

Here is a little omelette to go with my main course... haha actually its alot... but seems very little in the picture

And finally, me with my work of art... haha dun get the oppotunity very often, coz i am lazy, haha so here it is... heez...
