Am I bad or just not good enough

I don't know what is wrong but the day has been very lousy. Its only been 3 months (or 6mths, just 3 in full time) in this job and things have been pretty okie... but this come with a price and its turning pretty costly now.

Thou this job re-ignite my passion for this industry, I am starting to wonder if this is all worth it. This situation is making me think of the movie "Devil loves Prada" and something Nigel says in the move: "Let me know when you life comes crashing.... it means its time for a promotion" Do I really want to get to that stage? I wonder..

One part of life I am seriously lacking now is exercise. what have been a huge part of me in the past have now come to a serious haul, from 7 days a week to now once a week or even none a week. I am very not proud of this and am trying to work with it.

Its going to be a long weekend ahead.....=(

FAT

Dating back to my last entry, its been a pretty long while since I last blogged. I guess hardly anyone read my blog but well nevertheless, here I am.

I know this vicious cycle is on going but once again, I am back to square one in terms of my fitness, Once at my peak (close to sub 4hrs for a marathon), now I doubt I can even finish a 10 km run without stopping. Mentally I am strong, but mentally I am lazy also....

Anyway, for those that have not heard, i just started on a new chapter in life. something new and a learning process everyday. this also mean lesser "me" time as in the past. but nevertheless a good thing for a start. perks comes with the job, one thing is the opportunity to work in a big company, and of course having the chance to travel overseas! this year alone i have visited more places i have done in years.

well thats all i have for work. with its perks there is a downside, late nights and overtime, working over weekends, sleepless nights and all definitely comes with the job. but its made more bearable with awesome colleagues and team mate!

now to sport, unfortunately, i have not been able to fulfill many of the items that i set out to do this year. i have also taken a step back in my run. i stopped dragonboating and also slowed down on muay thai, these factor constitues to my growing waistline! haha. oh well slowly but surely i need to get it back! i must not let all my hardwoirk go back to waist. i should train for gold for my ippt before it expires.

at least this is what i set out to do:

1) gold for ippt 2011
2) get my fitness back!

thats for now! anyway! thats all for now. shall blog when i have the chance!

Time to pack

Stepping on the weighing scale yesterday is definitely a wake up call for me. I have gained 3 kg, yes 3KG!!! haha it shows that I still have the "fat genes" in me (grow fat super easy, losing it TOUGH!)

Anyway, as this project comes to an end, so does my worries once again, what's next? where to next??? Many ask me, where do my interest lies? Honestly, I am not sure, and am very uncertain as of now. Sad right? for someone my age to not have a direction in life... =( haiz...

Long term wise seems a blur now, but in short term, there are certain things I need to do.

1) Drop my weight (Time to get INSANE!!!)
2) Project "Spring Cleaning"
3) Project "Job Hunt/Job Consideration"

That's all I have for now but the top 2 will be priority, at least for the month of May! Sort out my life so that I can sort out my future... thats for sure!!!

I am out for this couple of weeks, and its back to train hard!!!

Power cycle lately...

The weather lately have been really temperamental, one moment its really blistering hot, the next its raining rhino and elephants (its beyond cats and dogs already). Its not wonder people fall ill and all. Please do take care everyone!!!!

Yesterday went to challenge the hills of Malaysia once again. What started of as a FB post by a friend Nicholas of the expedition he is going, so I "kpo" and tag, and became a conversation and soon enough, I was IN!!!

Woke up at 4am had a very light breakfast and met Nic at 5.15am to cycle from home to Changi Village where we will meet the rest and catch a ferry over to Malaysia, if I am not mistaken, the place is call Pengeran. Went by Punggol and off from lorong Halu to the back of Pasir Ris, a quiet and lesser traffic option to old tampines road.

Once we are there, met Alex and Uncle Benson, shortly Zaki, Jerome and Razak, the tour leader for the day, All of them seem very ready and all of them have a roadie, except me, I was the only one with a time trial bike. Anyway, Razak, a very season rider did mention "good luck" when he saw my bike, and I do understand what he mean, apparently a TT bike, built for long straight road, isn't that favorable for the hilly terrain of Malaysia. Nevertheless I braved it and was determine to catch up.

After breakfast, we caught the first boat out to Malaysia. its about 1.15 hrs boat ride (pulau ubin kinda boat, not ferry) over so some managed to catch a snooze while others just chit chat and seem unfaltering by the challenge ahead, I managed to steal a power nap and was taking pictures of the beauty (bikes) that were neatly arranged in the front portion of the boat.

Once we are there, we took a group picture before heading out. It was a 35 mins ride to the nearest and only town (dist 28km), everything seems pretty familiar as I did a similiar ride last year, only this time, its only my own bike and I tell you, the difference is so drastic.

When we got there, everyone who was initially thinking of just stopping for a drink decided to have some prata and all after realizing how "challenging" the ride to town itself was. We were going at an average of 30kph, something I was pretty comfortable of so I am fine, and so where the guys. After refueling, a couple of them make a trip to the nearby money changer before we head of to our first destination Desaru, its was known to be about 50km from the town. We were led to the "beginner route" according to Razak, lesser hills and more scenic as it was nearer to the coastal area. I believe the last time I was there I took the harder route as I remember doing hills one after another. This one is quite scenic as promised and the climb was also pretty manageable (probably my bike is better as well) Got in about 2 hours time. When everyone gathered at the round about at Desaru, then come the question: to head back, or to Kuta Tinggi. I was okie with both. KT it was and boy was it challenging. The hills never decrease and infact increased MAX and along with the after sun and the sparse vegetation around, we were soon at the mercy of the harsh weather condition, wasn't able to keep up with the front scout and I find myself travel some portion of the road alone. scary experience (just the worry of being lost). But thank god, manage to find them just before entering the town of Kota Tinggi, (90km cycled)

Waited for everyone before heading in town to look for some place for lunch, wanted nasi padang but the famous one (according to Razak) was not open, so we went for KFC instead, coz there was AIRCON!!! haha. took a long and relax lunch while everyone fuel up for the ride home. Got a few bottle of mineral water to refill for this leg, the last pit stop all we got was isotonic drinks which seem like not a good idea as it just made me more thirsty due to the hot weather.

From KT, off we go heading to JB to return from the causeway. The ride to JB must be one of the most adventurous ride by far for me, its equivalent to riding on the expressway in Singapore (but worst). I have huge container trucks zooming past me at formula one car speed and also not much road shoulder for me to work around. It was both scary yet fun as it really taught me how to control my bike and all. The road condition was also pretty bad and roadie having no suspension at all, the shock was all absorb by my bum (whatever is left of it) and arms. About 2 hours or so later, I safely made it to Malaysia's customs joining the motor cycle quite to enter the causeway, it was indeed a very unique experience, first time for me, but while waiting, didn't really enjoy all that soot that I was breathing in.

As I traveled along the causeway, there seem to be a breakway from Malaysia because as soon as I past the halfway point, it started raining. How strange is that right? Nevertheless, it was good as it kinda wash away some of the dirt accumulated from the ride.

Once back in spore, we headed to a coffeeshop named "Rasa Rasa" for a drink before heading back. Took the Woodlands, Sembawang, Yishun, Seletar Dam route back. Led by Nic, I made it home it one piece.

Total mileage for the day: 195.55km, my speedometer marked 190km but realize at certain point my speedometer went offline. So yeah. 200km, the longest ride by far on this bike, served me very well. Now I am officially a cyclist as I have the "bikers tan line" to prove it.

Looking forward to more long distance ride, and really thankful to the great support from the guys that I rode with yesterday! Its nice meeting new people, especially those that share a common passion!!!

Woohoo more rides to come, not too sure why I cannot like FB pictures here, so I guess for those who wanna see pictures to my trip will just have to see it from my FB page then.....

Cycling...

Yesterday, I realize I have a long way to go when it comes to my fitness. Whatever I had accomplished last year, ALL GONE!!! back to the drawing board and all over again!!! WOOHOO!!!

Okie, let me just update on the crazy month of March I have, the event was a success but honestly its a very very painful event. Just glad that its over and am not even going to mention anything about it (its that bad!!!) haha. But through that experience, I realized the team work and support I have around me. It was good to feel that but of course give me the standards to the "real working world".

Anyway, I am loving cycling, every bit of it... especially when I have my bike, all the traveling around in my 2 wheels have bring me to places I would have never have done personally. I am looking forward to challenge Desaru once again! Just waiting for someone to plan it! =p

Anyway, I will share picture (or you can see them in my FB) =)

First post of 2011

Just so happened to thing of my blog and so to realized its been "dead" for close to 3 months!!! haha Also a clear indication on how fast time flew for this year, without even realizing it, a quarter of the year is almost done!!!

This first quarter has been really adventurous for me. Visited Bali for the first time, and what a memorable trip it was. Most definitely love to visit again should there be the time for me to do so. So many things to look forward to. But the biggest that have happened must be leaving my job, the first job i found after graduating. Although it hasn't been the most smooth sailing, I must say the last few months was made more bearable with my colleagues and friends. I definitely gain alot from the job. The next question is what am I doing now? Well, let just say I am working freelance, in what you will have to find out for me... Dun worry, its not in desker road or orchard towers. MUAHAHA

Change is fun yet very scary at the same time, I am not too sure if its just me, but the pressure is pretty intense that its making me a little breathless. Its have not killed me so I believe I will get stronger.

Have yet settle any "lon" event (eg triathlon or dualthlon or biathlon) for this year as planned. Fear still there, not too sure what is holding me back, but I am holding back. Guess I need to get my "life" back on track now that I am living in uncertain time.

Anyway...back to war....will blog more when I have the time!!! FIRST ENTRY OF 2011!!!
