A great week, and a better weekend ahead...

5 long days in camp and finally i am home... arh... everytime in camp, though haven't been thinking of home much... but the special feeling when u get upon returning home is beyond description... Well, let me just briefly go through how the weeks been for me...

This week have been pretty "PT based", something that i really like, as its means i have more time to hit the gym... heez... but not everyone enjoys it as much as i do... Some of them even got sunburned from the many session of soccers during PT. Reason for it is that SSG Maswan, aka my in charge, was on leave, thus our life was "easier". heez...

Apart from that, had to take a couple of half day offs for my driving lessons, have to say its getting smoother... thank god for that... apart from my u-turn which needs more practise, i dun see much problem on the road no more... A few more lesson and I will be changing into Circuits, hopefully i can do it. No longer Mr yeo le, will be Mr. yap, seems like a very strict and means business guy... hopefully i dun step on his toe. Nyp band have resumed, been back to see how things have been... would say progess is pretty slow, and i guess the worse would be the attendance (as usual, wats new). With the change of committee, i guess that things will take awhile before its picks up... i hope its will not be long. So glad to see lao shi again...

Today is St Patrick's day, a day celebrated by the Irish, was suppose to meet up with angie and gang like last year for a drink, but had this parade today that ended late, and by the time i got home was already 9PM, so decide to give it a missed. Besides, tml i am having another race, the M500 Race at Lower Seletar, so if you happen to be there... do come down and support yeah... heez...

Oh, something terrible happen today in the parade, or rather after the parade, SSG Maswan lost his handphone, its a said that some of the airforce pple did it, but well as a procedure we were searched when we got back, its sad that such a thing have to happen... and its an Ngage, not a very new phone to begin with... Finally saw Gerald again, have to say he have put on quite abit of weight... heez... seem like ORD dun seems like such a good thing for him afterall, with all the external influence, hahaha...

Been getting alot of feedback from friends that haven't seen me for awhile, saying that I have gone down, but i dun really see much difference in myself. But well its up to pple to judge... heez... here is a couple of photos, one took on my last COG main (Oct) and a more recent one (Mar)

Tiring weekend!!!

Argh... shoulder is aching again... its becoming a norm every saturday night... hahah should have got used to it ages ago... but well can't help but to complain abit... coz its really sour... Now really considering if i should go down for tml morning training... they did weighing again today for next week race... and i am 75 kg!!! OMG, my dream weigh... haha but well that is after a day of tough training and only having biscuit before that... so i guess its should still be a 76 or more.. haha but nevertheless its improvement... comparing to my last weight (81kg) since last year before the Regetta race (nov). Happy man...

Well yesterday went to meet angie's gang for a little drink, (couldn't take the bordem at home any longer). saw some nice clothes, so may do some shopping sometime really soon i guess... haha... went to A|X, the new season things are really not that bad... saw a couple of white pants that i fancy, but the pricetag is way off my budget... haha guess i have to wait for its to be off season and hope for the best again i guess... haha... Went to Acid Bar, was named Little Ireland for then evening.. guess all preparing for St. Particks day... got to try guiness with chocolate, with rasberry, green guiness and all, its pretty fun... Worth going down to have some fun... really.... its still there next friday (which is the actual day) not to be missed.

Okok, i have a couple of phone in mind now... was actually considering Samsung D600, however, got some not so good reviews on it... from some of my frens that owns it... so guess its out of the league... now this is the 2 phones i am considering

this 2 phones, O2 Xda iis or O2 mini... heez... tink might pop down the it fair tml to see if i can grab a good deal... Meanwhile give me comments on these phones yah... cheers

Back from a week for Parade!!!

Finally, the week is OVER!!! for me at least... wanna know why? because i have been playing bass drum this entire 4 days of the week... My shoulders are screaming for a break, and i truely deserve to give them one... From last Saturday, i have been giving my shoulders all the pressure it can handle (or at least I hope it can handle). This is how...

Friday, had Corp of Drums for BMTC parade next week, my first ever, was kinda fun but my hands tire out as it requires technique and strenght to project the sound. Worse of all, one stick broke during the eary rehearsal, and there wasn't any spares. Thus i endure throughout the day with one stick, which made my arm (expecially my right) really sore when we are done. Saturday, had my usual Dragonboat training, was a little tougher then usual as the race is sneaking closer (2 weeks from now to be exact). Sunday, decide to have another go and try for the first time how Sunday rowing sessions is like. Been hearing that is really tough so thought i try it out myself. Indeed its rather tough, having to run for at least 5 km, then did a couple of sets of circuits comprising chin-ups, dips and crunches. After which we start training proper in the water, which was made more challanging with the scorching sun... After that had to rush home take a shower and head to camp for Change of Guards Parade. Was really tired and didn't really concentrated well thoughout the entire parade, but i manage to survived, thank goodness.

The next day, got up extremely early @ about 6am as we had BMTC passing out parade rehearsal @ tekong, and i was Bass Drummer...first time, and hopefully the last time i need to play it... had to rehearse under the hot sun. The harnes of the bass drum also made my life very difficult as quite a number of the screws are loose and missing making it very shaky when marching. Thinking about it now, i really saluate Wen Xiong and Gerald for doing such a good job last time man... i totally understand the hardship they have been through playing the bass drum... The follow 2 days were the actual parades for both school 1 and 2 respectively, and i have to endure... hopefully this is the last parade i have to do in tekong...

Today, was suppose to go for lesson in the afternoon, but have to call it off due to the lack of players, another Corp of Drum, this time for Change of Command for Chief of Air Force. All thanks to Gerald, who isn't back from O/L, which make me be his replacment... But well today its ok lah, i guess after awhile you just get used to it... and things seems to pick up ok. but well better not make it a habit before my position as a bass drummer becomes permenant. Well now you understand why i have sore shoulders. haha

This week have been a disaster to my gym regime, have only made it to the gym ONCE, working out my chest and biceps. Definately hitting the gym tml, need to work on other parts of the body too... been working abit on my chin ups too. can safely secure 6 at least now. Apart from that, i guess the only things i have done is just some running around camp and a few laps in the pool. Wonder when i am really going to see results... haiz... Patience i guess..

Finally a general poll, I have been having a problem considering what phone to get. On my mind now there is 2, a Samsung D600 or Motorola V3i. I am not really a big fan of Motorola hence the D600 is the one on my hottest list current. I am open to more suggestion on what other phones i can get. so please tag to let me know yah... cheers... enjoy the weekends

Life is turning hectic...

Phew... just got back from a little drink with herbert, even had wedges to go with beer... haha well since its been a long time since i did it, so what the heck i guess, the man deserves some break man. haha, oh yah, any chelsea fans out there? the score is 2-1, chelsea won with 10 man (robben got sent off).

This few days have been super busy for myself, juggling work, gym, lessons, dragonboat all at once. The race is coming 2 weeks from now, more training on myself (off water that is) but next week is gonna be a tough week to schedule my workout as i have to go for parades almost everyday. Argh!! its killing me really!!! when its slack its really slack, and when its work, its PACKED.

Anyway, tommorrow there is gonna be Change of Guards... something special this time around cause our drumline is very "non professional", meaning half of which is actually non percussionist. A thing not to be missed... haha. Afterwhich, have to stay in all the way for parades throughout the week. Think that is bad, one day from my weekend is gonna be burnt due to HQ duty! so its gonna be an 8 day working week for me... how sad is that man... Tommorrow morning likely to attend dragonboat training in the morning, been hearing that its intense but have never tried it before, so thought i give it a go before heading back to camp...

Guess i am calling it a night soon... dame still a newbie with Ipod thou i have it for quite awhile now... thats what happen when u lack patience in reading the instruction manuel... hahah anyway... cya guys next week lah... hope everyone have a great week ahead, i know mine will be "superb" heez... ciaoz

Money Money Money!!!

Haiz, ever since I started earning my own source of living, it seems that i am constantly poor. Matters turns worse when i entered the Army, where i dun even earn a living, i get allowance. With the recent Budget 2006, I have yet seen or feel the effect of it, so i cannot really comment much on it, but hopefully it can bring me some spare cash... Everything seem to be getting steeper, food, clothes. Its not that I go for the expensive stuff, but its just seems that there is just not enough for me to lead a life of a common fashionable teenager, or rather young adult anymore.

Money, where are you... its seems that i have been trying to save, but no matter how hard i try, it just seems to seap out from my clutches, like trying to hold water in your hand... I won't complain that i am the worse, coz i am sure there is definately more people out there that is doing far worse then i am. I just need some place where i can express my feeling and fustration... Without money, is there really no happiness? Can money buy me happiness? at times i really feel it can... but i know, this kinda happiness is only temporary, but still its better then none at all.

haiz... feeling vexed over money is really a sad thing... but well... i guess in Singapore, everyone are, so I am not alone i guess... ARGH!!!!

Asian Aerospace 2006

Today was an enjoyable day spent at the Asian Aerospace, an event held every 2 years in Singapore. However, this year is extra special, as its going to be the last held here.. From next year onwards, its moving to Hong Kong, so sad and will sure be terribly missed.

Anyway, got up @ 830 this year, met up herbert at 9 and make our way there... Had some bread for 'brunch' as prices for food there is pretty steep... here are some photos...

Some private jets one displays, haha hope i can own one of them next time, so i can fly as and when i want... woohoo....heez

Now to some heavier aircraft from the United State Airforce. Top is a carrier and the plane below is call the T.bird... tot it looked kinda like the one the Xmen travels in... hahaha

The highlight of this year show, Airbus A380, the First to Fly Singapore Airline. SIA will commence the used of the plane is November... can't wait!!!

Apart from that, there is alot of fighter jets, like the F16 Falcon, F15 Eagle, and many many more...

As usual, i would take some pictures with the pilots to this jets... they are all skilled flyers from the US Airforce man... dun play play...

At about 3 plus 4, was roaming around the exhibits and guess hu I saw. Our Senior Minister, Mr. Goh Chok Tong, and his wife... OMG.... got a up close pic with him man... wanted to shake his hands... but paiseh... heez.. here it is....

After that before calling it a day, took a picture with the giant poster outside, did the same thing 2 years back... haha brought back alot of memories...

(L to R) Year 2004 taken with BMW 5 series, Year 2006 taken with BMW 6 series. haha looking at this pic really shows how much I have changed over army man... hehe... glad i guess..

well guess that's enough pic for one night, for those that missed this Aerospace, its really a waste coz its really fun and its the LAST!!! but, hope these photos can help heal some of the wounds... heez... enjoy take care and good night!!!

Tiring week... more to come i guess

Phew... finally home sweet home... Just got home just a few hours ago, was involve in the parade for the late DPM, kind of a last minute thingy... glad that everything went smoothly. This week, was orginally nothing special, except for many PT session, which i like, coz it gives me time to hit the gym... heez... but well, apparently its not to the likely of many... Wednesday, recieve call up to be activated for the funeral, that afternoon went to esplande till night... was dead tiring (and boring) man... but we gave it our all... the following morning, had to assemble earlier then usual to rush there for more rehearsals... its indeed a big event... Got to see the efficiency of the army.... After last 2 days... today actual seems like a breeze... however the pressure was still on us... to perform to our standard... glad that we did a good job... everyone was happy. Guess this is kinda different now that i am pretty much one of the seniors in the band... everything seems so much simplier and communication with the specs seem to be so much easier.

Anyway, guess thats all i have to comment on today's event lah... heez... this event have prevented me to hit the gym for a couple of day, and had been munching quite abit due to it too.. . sinful man... time to get myself back to shape... heez... okok enough nonsense, more pic from D&D woohoo...

Some of the guys that helped he out with the banner, deco for the night etc.

Here are some of the sporting regulars that dressed to the occasion. Taken for Granted?

Usually this doesn't seem like much of a matter to me.... but judging from the past years... I just can't help thinking if I am taken for granted on certain aspect... Birthdays is a great way to see things, on other people birthday, i would not hesitate to get the person a gift, especially when he/she is my good fren... or a greeting or something... However, when it comes to my own, all this "friends" seems to disappear somehow... ever have that kinda feeling? Just take last year for instance, 21st birthday, its already sad enough to have it celebrated in camp, but what made things worse, was there wasn't any news from my so-called "best friend", as time i really wonder if he is my best afterall... instead, my biggest gift comes from my bunkmates... those i hardly know for a year... thx once again guys... but well, i am not trying to get things back in return, its just kinda sad that I am really that easily forgotten... even after being frens for so long... haiz... I am really lost trying to find the real meaning for friendship. Is it really a dog eat dog world out there? where there is not such thing as real friendship... i wonder...

Anyway, back to SAF annual dinner, promised to put some pictures... here is some....

Prizes for the evening, top prize being a PSP, 2nd an Ipod Nano and 3rd a PS2... not bad eh...

Hmm... seems to have abit of a problem with the photo uploading function... well you guys will have to wait for next week then.... Meanwhile, ciaoz...

Fun Filled Week

Phew... after so much preparation for SAF Bands Annual Dinner 2006, it was finally over last night, and i really do hope everyone enjoyed themselves to the fullest. I know i did, hey and guess what... I won myself a DVD player... haha 1 of the top 10 prizes for the evening (7th to be exact)

Before i carry on with the Anuual Dinner, let me mention abit on Sport day too... This year is my first sports day with SAF Bands, and will also be my last. Its held in camp and I would say its kinda enjoyable, but very tiring in my case... as i was selected as one of the runners for 10 * 1 km race... Was the 2nd runner, were in the lead, but from 3rd runner onwards, the gap was closed in by Central Band, and they were the winner in the end. According to some news i recieved, i clocked in a timing of 3.13mins for my run, 10 sec slower then the fastest runner in the race (Vincent), and in 2nd place... haha didn't know i could run that fast... well there is always something new that i can learn about myself... heez...

Here are some of the pictures taken on that day
With the games all done, the officers entertained us with some "fancy drills" and showed us how the PROS do the job...

Not forgetting our very "garang" and patriotic bass drummer for the contingent... haha

haha, guess thats all for sports day... think i will mention more about Annual Dinner in my next entry, if not its will be so flooded... heez... ciaoz for now...
