Very long time no Blog!~!~

Hey there it been a while since i last blog.... sorry for the absence... was really having no inspiration on blogging... heez... now i am back... okok let me juz update what i have been doing during this time of "absence"

Besides no inspiration, hectic work schedules also contributed in part of my MIA, anyway, here is a summary of what i have been up to lately ba... First up, a paid engagement at the Grand Hyatt hotel, it was for some company event thingy, our band was invited as the man (President) was there... shall share some photos as wellHere is a picture of us all dressed up and preparing to leave for the event, was actually suppose to be a picture of the 3 of us (front) but those 2 apparently joined in unnoticingly... heez..

Here is when man are at work... heez... shuai ba... heez... uniform always looks good when u are not in them... don't understand why either... heez...

Following that was a band trip up to Malaysia, was proudly organised by Central band as they felt that everyone deserved a "relaxed" day since the PEAK PERIOD (from apr to aug) of the band is over... the trip was held on a MONDAY, wasn't the best day to have it right, when u have to work the next day... but since its a FREE trip, we just went of with it lah... here are some of the places we have visited...

heez... first up we visited a fruit farm that with their main harvest being honey orange... kinda like a mix of mandarin orange and sunkist orange as the tour guide have intro (in the first pic) , 2nd pic is a pic of some of my buddies and I sneaking off to take picture and rest while the tour guide was busy introducing the other fruits avaliable in the farm to the other... the last one is a pic of me with a bunch of banana, i bluff u not... those are bananas, and yes... they are taller then me.. cannot remember whats the name of it anymore, anyway, its believe that if someone couldn't have baby, they juz have to touch this (or eat one banana from it, cannot remember) they will be able to have a baby... haha... believe or not its up to you.... but its indeed something new and i haven't seen before...

Next, we are off to and Ostrich farm, pretty big place and loads of ostriches, and definately a strong bird smell... hahaha...

here, is me with 2 ostrich eggs, lolz... there are like huge and nothing like chicken eggs man... first experience with ostrich eggs man... usually onli saw them in TV, heez.. now i know where flinstones get such big scrabble eggs.. lolx, in there middle, that is my fren, zhi xun, and yes he is about the same height as the ostrich... heez.. at most the ostrich is about 5cm taller as the ground wasn't very level... heez... but he is that tallest guy in band so its not suprise if he is taller than an ostrich too...lolx... lastly, me standing on an ostrich egg... haha worried that it might break, then fret not, coz before me, someone that weigh 108 kg just stood on it... and it could handle its weight juz well... so i am considered "light" lolz.... oh yah, know what the interesting is... the ostrich(no zhixun, hee) in the middle, actually understand malay and love taking photos, the owner just have to ask it to look at the camera in malay and it will follow... how cool its that...

Heez... then after visiting all these farms... its was just some shopping and makaning till its was about evening before calling a day... tiring yet enriching day... i wouldn't say it was not fun as i get to know my bunk and bandmates better... heez... its was fun lah... but hopefully the next one won't be one that we will have to work the next day again... *hint... heez....

Alright, there is actually a couple of more events... but i guess i will share later on... now its TV time... heez.. how no life can one gets, when ur life revolves around tv and internet... heez.... ciaoz then....

HAPPY MOON CAKE FESTIVAL!~!~!~

hey there peepz... its moon cake festivel again, "ba yue shi wu" 15th of august in the chinese lunar calendar... and also how chinese like to address "Big round butts" heez... *ahem anyway, its the night whereby the moon is the fullest of the month, an i have to agree the moon is pretty round and big not to mention, BRIGHT...

Yesterday 17 September, 430pm, my grandma is finally reunited with my grandad when she was cremated at Mandai, we had our last look at her, placing flowers inside the coffin before it was send to the furnace. I must say the technology nowadays is really advance, even the "last journey" to the furnace was computerize. As ah ma's coffin drew closer and closer to the furnace, tears such rowing down my cheeks, tears of both grief and joy... It just comes to me that this is all part and parcel of life, God create someone out of dust, and when someone is returning to god, they are offering in the form they are created, dust... Ah ma, hope you still watched over each and everyone in the family and you will always remain in that special corner of each and everyone of our hearts.

These 2 days, i have gotten pretty much things completed, my secret mission is 2/3 completed, and its all left with the last and final mission before it is complete, hope everything goes smoothly...

Back to lantern fest, after today service at mandai i hang out with herbert... as a matter of fact i just got home, and tot i should blog about these few days... its taught me a great lesson, "No point crying over those that have passed, if you didn't treasure them when they're still around" so cherish everyone you care so you will live without regrets... heez... Anyway, was with herbert at changi village just now, went to walk around, was pretty aimless as we have already ran out of ideas on where to go, but looking at all the kids playing fire works and with strings of lantern hanged from one tree to another, its brings back many wonderful childhood memories... hahah....
I am lost for words... anyway have a great lantern fest later yah... nites for now

She have moved on...

13th September 2005, 5,15pm, my grandma have left us... She was 92 years old, Died of old age and not of illness, thats the fortunate part, as she didn't have to suffer before departing, somehow similar to my grandad... But its pretty sad as its was just her birthday last sunday... haiz... but i guess when its time its time... lets nature takes it course and let time heals all wound i guess...

Tuesday when i got back from my parade rehearsal, my phone rang, and that was when i recieved this terrible news, as i have a parade the next day, i could rush home... Only yesterday evening after the parade that i rushed home drop my stuff, and went over to my uncle's place where the wake is held... they were praying when i got there, so i helped out in serving the guest with drinks and things... when service is done, i when to look at her, she seems like she is sleeping, and looking all calm and peaceful... then, slowly as the night approaches, everyone slowly left, then everyone went home to rest, i walked my parents home, then packed a few things before returning as i agreed to help out for the night-watching.

It was till early this morning, at about 7 plus that i left the place, and took a short snooze, later this evening would be returning to help...

My blog seems to be recording sorrows of my life.... or maybe its just that i lead a sad life in total... i am pretty unsure... but well... life still goes on...

Looking Back....

At times, its can be sad to be looking back at your past, of moments that is sad and you have tried very hard to forget... however, in the mids of it all, there is bound to find things that lightens you up, like a candle in the dark...

Recently have been digging out old stuff from corners of my rooms, photos, books, gifts, etc... Found some stuff i never knew i have and some i would have rather kept hidden... Memories of each item as i browsed them seem to hit me like the incident was only yesterday... the feeling is really hard to describe...

Indeed, throughout my life, many things have happened... some happy, some sad, but all this i guess its just part and parcel of life. Looking at the words i am typing now, you must be thinking for such a young age, i sure do sound old right... lolx.. i dun blame you, it do seems pretty "mature" heez... not like the usually stuff you would see from me... Its just this surp of the moment where all this thought gets to me... so i thought i share it with you guys...

Other then looking at my past items, i have been running through stuff of my army too, things i have been doing for the past year or so in the National Service, no doubt there is change in me, one way or another, but for better or for worse, i guess it not for me to decide... But this past year in NS, i guess its been pretty smooth sailing... Honestly, i kinda missed BMT abit, haha, for those that have been through it must think that i am going bonkes, but i am not... recently a bunch of my frens just got enlisted, to be exact, juz yesterday and today, and more to go tml, haha really hope they will enjoy theirselves there.. i am sure they will... 3 mths might seems like a long time... but actually it passes in a blink of an eye...

Guess i have too much "mo shui" tonight, shall end off with some food for thought.... "Looking back at your past is not neccessary a bad thing, its how you use the past to determine your future that is important"...

Another week is almost over...

Hey there peepz!!! heez, know its been pretty rough weekend, but well life still have to go on for me... Got news that Uncle Ross body is back home where it should be, and bural will be soon, just hope he can rest in peace... But the good news is my grandma's health seems to be getting better, though not as active as she used to be... but as long as she is alright... its okie...

Been travelling to and fro tekong for the last three days, was there for the Passing Out Parade, its been 9 months since i was in their position and its sure brings back alot of memories man... This parade is some what grander (for school 2) as the reviewing officer for their parade was the PM himself, Mr. Lee, rumours was saying that his son is one of them in the contigents but we are not sure... lucky everything was done well for both parade...

Today, got a break for our hardwork the past three days... got out of bed slightly earlier as Victor came over to look at my com, which was hit by a spyware sometime back... Thx victor for getting it fixed... then, when to setting some finance things and get my hair trimmed... i swear i will not go back to that barber again, she is freaky when its comes to doing her job, he "heck care" attitude will scare any customer man.... lucky the damage wasn't great if not i would have to return to my BMT days (botak)... Anyway, afterwhich, was out walking, then was deciding to return home or go to camp, but was home in the end, no place beats home i guess.. heez...

Recently, many people around me have been talking about relationships and things, one such incident seems pretty interesting, so i thought i post it out for discussion...

A(guy) and B(ger) have been friends for many years, very good friends, that can talk about anything under the sun... One day, B told A that a guy is going after her, and A was really excited for her, being her good friend and all... However, after that, A was feeling weird, there is this unknown pain somewhere in him, and he was feeling rather 'sour' about B... Is he

(a) Worried about losing a good fren
(b) Falling for B
(c) Worried that B will be cheated

These are some of the possibility that we have come out with for the situation, there is no definate, but i mean (b) is pretty hot... If u are in A's position, which will u choose to be the reason of you are feeling...

Interesting at times what we guys do when we are bored... lolx... Anyway, tml is Friday!!! hereby wishing everyone a wonderful weekend in advance!!! Adiose....

Sunday, September 04, 2005

This have been a pretty quiet... and pretty sucky weekend for me i have to say... Visited my grandma after my medical checkup on friday, she is in a pretty bad state, very skinny and bed ridden, sad sight to be seeing, just hope that if she is leaving to look for my grandad, it would be a peaceful departure... no suffering and all...

Uncle Ross is gone, his body will reach back to his home tml (monday), very sad to lose someone so great, my dad is pretty upset over it... me too, to a certain extend... though we donno each other that well, but the warm hospitality that we recieved when we got there everytime we visit will be remembered for life and dearly miss...

Back at home, things are pretty much the same... at times... i wonder coming back home is really such a good thing... or should i just stay in camp... and rot my life away... haha, its not that i dun miss home or anything, its just that, its can be rather "costly" to be at home or out of camp... guess this speaks for most nsf... heez... Coming week, tekong POP, three days in a row... hope it will be fun lah.. my first parade back in BMT since my own POP... will refresh lotsa memories i believe... the week to come is going to a pretty short one i can forsee... just home it will be a fun one lah... Nothing to write already i guess.. boring weeks says it all i guess.. Ciaoz

Thursday, September 01, 2005

Hey there, you guys must be wondering y i am online at things hour of the night when supposedly i have to work tml morning right??? well, its because i have a medical appointment tml morning, so i don't have to report to work early tml... Its been a few days since i come back from camp, and what better reception than to be hitting me with a series of unexpected news... First, Informed that my grandma (dad side) haven't got much time left... she will be turning 93 next sunday, was told that the maid was unable to wake her up this morning and everyone was informed about it... things seems better after my cousin (a doc) gave her a jab... but according to him, passing away is inevible, and its likely these few days... Everyone is preparing for the worse...

That was the first wave that hit me... second wave came shortly after when i was informed that one of my dad's close friend, Uncle Ross have passed away from a heart attack, during his usual winter tour around aussie with his wife, auntie Sophia... Uncle Ross is a very close friend of my dad, he is equivilent to a god dad of mine is aussie man... the last time i saw him was 3 years back when my sister had passed away, he specially flew down to attend her funeral... Seldom do we see such close bond between 2 man... what more many thousand miles apart... Really have the urge to fly there immediately to pay our last respect to this respected man, but with my grandma current condition... guess its not really possible... The world is really unpredictable, i have witness its many times this year... just hope that this "cursed year" would passed soon and we can enjoy a better coming year...

Project Superstar is finally over... and Kelvin Tan emerged top!!! sympathy votes... its really up to how you guys think (or hu you support). Personally listening to the last song that kelly did, i tink she have done not a bad job, though pitchy at times... but overall still rather good i have to say... Well, she was not that bad either managing a deal with Universal while kelvin got with another (cannot remember wat the company is)... Its really smart how mediacorp make money out of their program... making them sell cds as a type of vote, then now that its all over, plan a live concert for them.... really explioting whatever they can from this "star wannabes"... Sucking them dry in dracular terms... lolx... But i guess that what they have already in mind when they first started the program i guess... Joy evening for some while some is sad... As for me, its pretty much there with so many bad new juz within a week... life is indeed unpredictable...

A new beginning...

Ladies and gentlemen, i have finally change my blogskin... *applause*... been wanting to do that for donkey years... but haav never find time to do so... Tonight since there wasn't anything tv (except for National day rally talk by SM lee), i decided to make the time more useful... hope u like it... heez...

Been a pretty peaceful weekend for me i would say, haven had much to do except for a parade early yesterday morning... had to go "oversea" heez... afternoon went down to nyp as band have resume, so went to take a look, haha missed everyone so much man... so glad to see that everyone was doing well.. there were quite a number of new faces... which honestly never really put into much consideration... except for one percussion ger from china sichuan, heez... had a little joke about her and peiyi, and also a nick name for her, called la mei (hot chick in chinese) coz sichuan pple are known to take spicy food... heez..

hahah... apart from that i guess there isn't much interesting stuff to cover for this week le... next week i am having my first ever IPPT, haha hope i can pass... wish me luck then.. heez.. alright, shall end off with some pics from my trip then... enjoy

Picture of Frankfurt, Germany. A place we visited after the competition

A group photo in front of the entrance of a castle. Believe it or not, this castle is actually a 15 min walk from our hostel. Our hostel is in Krekrade, holland whereas this castle is in germany. So my point is from hostel its only 15mins walk to Germany!!! hahaha...

This is one of the photo i like... coz its really a capture of the split second... and in the mids of avast green field adds on to the colour of this pic... so nice... Brief intro of the background... The place we are in is Bonn, a town where the famous compose Beethovan lived, behind them once used to be a palace, and now its used as a university... huge place...

University Of New South Wales!!!

I have got a place in University of New South Wales!!! hahaha, i am half excited and half lost... excited because its one of the uni that i wouldn't mind getting into... lost its because its not one of the uni my parents would support... as my aunt say in perth, naturally they would want me at University of Western Australia... haven't applied for that... will have to see how on that one again... As for now i am contented that at least my results in poly does get me somewhere... heez...
Anyway, must be wondering what am i doing at home and not in camp at this time right... well the reason is simple... i am on OFF tml... as we had parade and rehearsal the day before... so we are having a well deserving rest, heez... have plenty installed for tml... as for now i shall blog on what happened over the weekend...
Last saturday, had a wonderful time with my section of the nyp band. They went for a cycle at East Coast Park, i only met them after that as it wasn't convienent for me to cycle that day... shall not comment too much on how i found them (or more like how they found me), pretty embarrassing now thinking back about it... heez... Afterwhich, we head of too the beach and took quite a number of pics some nice, but some are just plain funny... lolx... After that we proceeded to marina south for dinner. STEAMBOAT!!! everyone enjoyed themselve, cooking grilling and occasionally getting scalded by spilling butter from the grill.. haha... After that we left the place smelling like bbq, to the nearby bowling alley for a friendly game of bowling before calling it a day... was really fun and i have to admit, they are really not bad in bowling man... heez... "zen ren bu lou xiang" (means a skilled person never show off his skill in chinese)...
Haa thing i shall not write so much... i shall let the photos do the talking...

Couple of attempt to take a shot where everywhere jumps... heez there is plenty more from where these came from...

Us have a great time with the stream boat hahaa eveyone is pretty much fill to the brim already

Nothing like a game of bowling after a filling dinner....

NDP 2005

Hey there.... NDP is offically over and for all those that have watched it telecast shouldn't have problem seeing me on TV because i was the starting of the Parade segment... heez... so cool to be on TV man... lolx...
Here is a picture of all of us before our segment starts... pretty neat right... Every saturday since early june, first was in nee soon camp... then slow as NPD creeps closer, all our saturdays are burned at padang... repeating the same things over and over again... got pretty sick and tired of quite a number of things... lolx... like a few of the mega hits "Muniru Valiba, Sing our wishes, chan mali chan and etc..." not forget the many Pizza hut and KFC lunch and dinners we have recieve... However, these are the exact same things that i missed now that the entire parade is over, strange but true...

Here is another pic of my 2 friends paul and bernard with cai chun jia... how cool is that, she was leaving after her song with wendy koh (Uniquely you), then we happen to spot her so dashed over to take a picture with her... too bad, all these have cause a commotion among the nearby crowd, so before i could take one with her, she had to leave... *sob...

These are all the actual flautist of the day... my seniors are terence and bernard, as they are coporals, and daryl happened to enlist before me too, that makes him my senior too, then behind me is tuan hao and marcus, marcus is still in training wing, but he can play really well, so i suppose he is a central bander really soon... haha praying hard for him to come band A though... heez... fingers cross...

Well there is plenty more from where that came from, but i shall not flood my blog with too many pictures... heez... but i am really happy to be part of Singapore's 40th birthday... indeed a once in a lifetime experience...

NATIONAL DAY

2 more day to my first NATIONAL DAY parade!!! heez... honestly there is a certain amount of excitment coming to think about it... its always been my childhood dream to be involve in NDP, and in the smart looking number 1 uniform... hopefully its will be a successful event...

Haven't been blogging much ever since i return to work, so i tot i give some thoughts and feedbacks on myself... is feeling much better nowadays, have straighten out alot of my thought... some things are best left for nature to take it course i guess... could say that most, if not all that have been troubling me since the return of the trip is gone... thank to some friends that have been there for me, making me realise what have been bothering me... and listening to my sorrows when time of need... really apprieciate it...

Now about working... all this thing about after NDP its going to be a relax period i believe its bullsh*t because i have the schedule of this month and the next and let me just say... its not going to be easy AT ALL!!! its PACKED to the brim man... however, its pretty fine with me as long as there are things to do, time passes faster...

Things have to change for me... and something have to be done to my weight, desperately... there is plenty i wish to accomplished within these few months... Finally made the decision to let nyp be on their on... not that i am sick of them or anything (i would never be that), its juz to let them stand on their own already i guess... no matter what, the true fact is i am an alumini, so i can't possibly be too committed to them that much...

Phew... guess thats all i have ba... know things are pretty much a chunk here and there, without any link or anything.. but will its a place for me to place my thoughts right... so whatever that comes to my mind i blog lor.. heez.. anyway HAPPY BIRTDAY to SINGAPORE in advance... and may everyone stay happy always... cheers!!!

Been awhile

Hey there, its been awhile since i last blog, so thought i give you guys a penny of my thought... or at least what i have been doing upon return from frankfurt...

Just completed NDP 2005 preview a couple of hours ago, even though its not to a full house audience, but the ambience was still great... It was raining cats and dog in the afternoon, so was kinda worried the show couldn't carry on, but lucky, the heavens was kind and before the show, everything was more or less set, with abit of drizzle...

Its been a week since i have return from frankfurt, and thank god for the block off that i have been having... cause i have been suffering from a serious case of jet lag, which i have yet to recover fully... been slping at 5-6 am in the morning and getting up at 2-3pm the next morning... been trying hard to adapt back... some improvement have showed these few days... other then jet lag, other matter also been bothering me, partly adding to the problem... Honestly, this is the first time i come back from a trip feeling so troubled... some of mine troubles followed me back from the trip, while some others... poped out when i return... should i see a counsellor... I really wonder at times...

Anyway, life goes on i guess... going out for a drink now... guess thats the best solution lah... ciaoz...

Depressing life...

Its the 2nd day after i have returned from Frankfurt... and honestly speaking, I have not really believe i had been to holland, won WMC and return home... every single thing seems too unreal all of a sudden... This trip have took me on the most unforgettable roller coaster ride in my enitre life... many moments in the trip have been deeply engraved into my life... This trip is far from "enjoyable" compared to sydney i would say... but no matter what its an experience and a fruitful lesson overall...

Yesterday, was my first time after 2 weeks returning to work... glad that everyone seems pretty please to see me... had yet another ndp rehearsal and its the last few since npd is a couple of weeks from now... however adapting back to 'local life' might still take quite awhile... the rehearsal didn't really gone too well in the afternoon as i needed time to adapt to the steps and everything... buut luckily, by showtime in the evening... everything turn out well... phew... thats a relieve... after that went back to camp got change and got back home to rest... was suppose to go out with my frens but apparently they had other plans... so i stayed at home, online chatting and uploading some of the pics on to my computer... hmm... got kinda hooked to beer... ever since the day before competition, beer seems to be the only way i could get myself to bed and give my mind some rest... think about it.. i have had beer ever since the day before competition... till last night the craving was there... tonight is no differnt... really wish to know what is bothering me within... pple say it works by saying it out... hence i am blogging it out...

Sometimes when i think back on the trip... many a times people will have a great sense of miss, of all the sights and sounds of the place... but this time... despite all that, there is a weird feeling that always arise, a feeling i seek answer for myself... juz makes my heart feels really depressed and all... just hope i can get over it real soon and be back to normal...

guess thats all i have... saying it out didn't really helped much i guess.... but anyway... if anyone ever feels this way before... please let me know how to cure it... thx...

SAF DAY is finally over!!!

Hey there peeps... heez bright and sunny monday afternoon hey... hopefully this wonderful day have chase away all the monday blues...

Anyway, SAF Day is finally over... no more waking up before the sun is up, rushing to SAFTI MI, and only leaving the place after the sun have set... not at least for another year (meaning next year SAF day lah).. Can be finally considered a "lao jiao" (old bird in hokkien) in band liao.. haha coz all the seniors in saf band said once u endure saf day... u practically can endure any other parade... and can consider yourself a 'senior' in the band... hahah.. Honestly, the actual parade itself is more bearable compare to the rehearsal, guess its because of its in the evening and the sun isn't that hot, and there is an audience there to keep us 'energised'... Took a few photos... will share them once i get them uploaded k...

Saturday, after SAF day was NDP rehearsal... haiz... a month more to npd... very packed man schedule... but still enduring through lah.... baking under the hot sun dun seem much of a problem... kinda get used to it already... haiz... the sad thing is the uneven tan i am getting.... SO UGLY!!! ARGH... the fastfood lunch and dinner have finally come true as we had pizza hut for lunch and KFC for dinner... was good but very sinful.... felt dame guilty after having it... but when u are left with no choice and u are hungry... think anything goes... Dashed off after rehearsal at close to 8 for my cousin wedding... was super tired... so only stayed for awhile before calling it day...

Sunday was equally busy... had to go for band prac... for some 'vetting' of some sort... was a short session... then went suntec to walk walk... xiu xiu was close by so met her for shopping... got myself a 'blazzer' from U2 (cheapest i can find le... heez) then start to stock up negative for the trip... A week more to the trip, looking forward to it, at the same time dreading it... Will try to do the best i can...

Another tiring weekend....

Good evening all... phew yet another week have past and its getting more and more hectic for me... life i mean... It been awhile in life since i have faced financial difficulty and what a time to be facing it i must day... the power of the GSS had really overpowered me this time i have to say... haha... first time in my army term i have spend my pay in advance... usually i would have spare to pull me through the month before the next pay term... but now i have already spend half or even all of the next months pay even before its here... hahaha... i am powerful when it comes to spending money i would have to say... need to get myself under control before i go terribly out of line again...

Okie enough on the money stuff... guess i will briefly go through my week again... have been spending most of my spare time traveling to and fro nyp, partly because they had rehearsals almost everyday and also, we needed all the practise we can get as WMC closes in on us... Never realised it could be that costly travelling to skool... guess last time i was partly sponsored (by my parents) thats why i never felt the pinch... now that i am 'supporting' myself, everything is a different picture all over again... heez...

Past 2 days will be the considered the most 'siong' of the entire week, as we had SAF day rehearsal on friday and NDP rehearsal on saturday, both vettings so we are required to wear our Number 1, The weather wasn't kind to us neither, it was raining then the sun turns super hot, making it unbearable for many, and causing many to fall out in the mids of the vetting, soldiers for SAF days and uniform group student for NDP... However, we were fortunate for SAF day as the 'vetter' seems happy with our performance and all were rewarded by letting us off early... Thus was able to catch nyp concert... Its wasn't a very bad concert overall, considering ntu was also involve so a certain standard was set... nyp i would say did pretty well themselves as compared to the previous concert... however improvements can still be made and some polishing can still be done to the competition pieces...

Back to NDP, its was the most tiring things i have done so far man... worked from morning 8 till 9 at night... by the time we got back to camp and leave camp it was 10 plus.. super ultra tired man... went through umpteem rehearsals and under that hot sun... and uneven tan was inevitable... Argh!! i hate the state i am in now... i look like a half zebra with uneven strips... i hate my tan... will do something about it before going oversea, thats for sure...

Next week will be yet anot week as SAF day actual is this coming friday... Finally!! can't wait to get it done and over with... Hope everything will be good...

Today, is equally filled... i never used packed because its wasn't scheduled so i pretty much enjoyed myself...went to AI (audio Image) band for practise this morning, was 'invited' there by kelvin, a fren of my there, to play for their concert... so i tot y not... besides me he also asked mark from central band.. it wasn't a huge band... however the pieces they played was interesting and kinda challenging for some... but with a little practise its should be so difficult i guess... for sight-reading i believe i didn't do that bad... Afterwhich when down town for a movie... as i cannot find anyone and its a last min thingy, i went to watch Batman alone... haha... a very good show worth the 9.50 that i paid (oh yah... cine seems to be 9.50 also liao... guess they cannot dun rise liao...lolx) then was home sweet home...

Tml is off... planning a gathering but yet to finalise... hope it will be an enjoyable one... heez.. anyway Ciaoz...!!!

Yet another week.... closer to SAF day....

Hey there people, haha its me again, well blogging have become more of an impossible task nowadays... haha due to my hectic schedule and all... haha SAF DAY, WASBE outreach, WMC, NPD... these excludes all the minor parade in between them... Argh!! its driving me nutz... Anyway have been trying to organize my time as best as i can... there is only some much i can do...

Its been a pretty 'fun filled' weekend i have to say... Saturday (which is yesterday) had ndp rehearsal in camp... full run through as we are proceeding to padang next week... and where the actual rehearsal starts... anyway... had a few rounds before calling it a day... pity those from the uniform group... not train for parade causing alot to faint under such harsh condition (the sun was bloody hot)... After that... rush to nyp for band prac... haha spent 7 buck (on cab) for a 45 mins session... hahaha expensive session i have to say... but well.. for wmc... anything i have to do will have to try lah... at least got parts on where i need to work on by lao shi...

Today, had a 'hot date' with Sasa, met her in town to do some shopping since staying at home is a bore anyway... walked alot and GSS is really burning a real big hole in my pocket (or is going to burn a big hole to be specific) Everything seems to be on sale... and all looks tempting... taka Gucci was like packed with people... the first every boutique i have every seen to be so crowded... bought a little present for a little cousin of mine... and Sasa bought some wallets (for herself and her mum) Met Alison and her family at Burberry takashimaya... haha... her little sister was like her... both enjoyed 'friendly debates' heez... after that was more shopping... from taka to wistma, then to lido, then ck tang then back to taka and wistma as sasa said she had to look for a gift for her fren... Ended off going back via train at orchard station... legs were died stiff when i board the train... Was thinking of going back camp tonight... but was too tired to leave the house... so going back tml.. though have to wake up a little earlier... but at least save some money travelling... heez... coz dad give me a ride back... thx dad... Oh yah and happy father's day.... to all dad in the world...!!!

Thats about all... about less then 20 days to WMC... all the best i guess!!!!

parades!!! Urge!!!

Hey there people... phew... been a tough day... actually been tough for the last few days.... coz its been parade parade and more parades... Here is how my week went...

Monday morning, woke up earlier than usual, about 6 plus, for a parade rehearsal at istana for the raja (or king in english) of Qatar, which is making a state visit on friday, had may runs of the rehearsal under the hot and humid morning... After that, we had early off as we were told to rest... went to get a haircut before returning home... dad gave me a ride home.. thx dad... Tues was off for last week super long day work (last friday - read previous blog entry for details) so went out with sasa zhi sheng and supposingly karen(who didn't make it in the end coz she overslept) for the movie "Madegasca" kinda missed the beginning coz ZS was late... but enjoyed the movie though, after that, we went window shopping, its GSS(Great Singapore Sale) so i couldn't resist... went into Hugo Boss, Burberry, Armani Exchange etc etc... great sale and all tempt to get a jeans from AX, had tried it and felt real comfy in them... then more shopping before going for band prac in the evening... was kinda fun coz they played clubcrawl (or CCA week in layman term) sounds, favorites with the likes of Alvamar, Persis, and many more, was fun... during the break, finally gave them (flute section) the gift i made for them... sort of a symbol of good luck for WMC and concert ahead... hope u guys like it...

Wednesday, was kind of a relax day as its SAF day rehearsal the next morning, so staff was kind enough to let us off early and we (me and my bunkmates) went shopping again in town, couldn't resist the temptation of the AX jeans no longer... so went to get it... hahah half my pay burn... then went to topman, where one of my guy fren got a top and i got myself another jeans... lolx... 2/3 of pay gone, then return to camp for an early night rest as the next day is going to be a long one... contented after shopping though... Next on the list, hmm... Burberry shirt perhaps...lolx... shall see about it...

Thursday, early for every band, as we rush to SAFTI MI for our SAF day rehearsal, there will be one every week till the actual (on July 1st). Was in out number one (the white uniform u see in ndp) as there was going to be a vetting by some big personnels... had about 2 runs, each runs lasting about 2 hours... tiring, yes, definately...

Friday another early day, was to rush to istana for the actual parade for the raja of Qatar, was over by noon, then we left camp early again... went out with nyp gang to beach road for a walk, then to bugis... after that went home.... tired but fun...

Today, had to go back to camp at 12 for ndp rehearsal, was a full dress rehearsal before we proceed to padang next week... so we have been wearing our number one for 3 days straight! power man... had a few runs before we were all told to dress for the final rehearsal... worse part was... when its full dress, it started raining with lighting so its was called off. rotten luck i have to say... Anyway, we packed up and luckly before we left camp, the rain stopped... juz got home a couple of hours ago... finally can relax for a couple of days... before going back to the 'world of parades' again....haha that is pretty much my week then... pretty summarise i must say... haha

okok then...going to watch "who am i" liao... ciaoz...

Weekend of band band band

Afternoon people, had a rather busy weekend thats y only able to blog now... heez.. sorry to kept you guys waiting... ok lets get to it straight away

Friday 3rd June 05 Parades, parades and more parades
Woke up at 5am, after battling to conquer the noise the guys make while playing winning 11 (a soccer game on PS 2) in bunk, was feeling 'dead'- meaning didn't wish to move... but drag myself out of bed and quickly wash up and got change... after which walked with my bunkmate in the darkness, to the whitehouse...we were all practically walking zombies... then when the bus came, we headed of to Istana. After we got there, was informed about a little hiccup on the nominal roll, hence, we were made to wait till 7.30 before allowed into the premises (argh!!! lost sleep) in there was more waiting for the provost to get here... lucky i got my book with me if not i would have slept...when they got here (which is about 8 plus)... ate the breakfast they brought (thx guys) and started getting ready for the parade. There wasn't much clouds today so we are in for a hot morning... as we march into the parade ground, saw many big shots (generals and colonels) arriving... even the chief of army was there.. so the person that was coming must be a big shot... True enough, the person who came was some top executive from the USA, no wonder everyone was so alert... after that parade we were sent back to camp for a short rest... and after lunch... we were off for SAF day rehearsal... a huge parade which everyone dreads... Got to SAFTI MI, those bandsmen that was there already warmly welcome us, coz some of them had to go through the morning rehearsals before we arrived, thus, now there we are there they can SLACK once more... lolx... as soon as we put down our things... we were called up for rehearsal, dun even had time for a breather... so quickly we set up our instruments and prepared ourselve... all through.. the wait was intense... and the sun was baking us like cookies in an oven... it took close to 2 hours for the entire procedure to complete... got and instant tan man... uneven however (coz we are in our t-shirt...dame...hee)... Anyway, after that there was another run of the rehearsal, so by the time we are done, its about 6 plus in the evening, got back to camp at about 7 plus 8, then when i got home, its already 9 plus... was really tired... took a shower and called in a day...zzZZZzzz....

Satuarday 4th June 05 Photo shoot and nyp camp
Woke up early, fancy having to work on a saturday afternoon... anyway, spent too much time dilly dallying at home that i had to rush down in a cab... haha, luckily i got there early, an hour early to be specific, so slowly i got my stuff prepare, iron my pants, check my uniform etc... shortly after, the rest started coming... and we all took bernard's car up to the whitehouse... staff was already waiting for us, we quickly got all the stuff we need and hitch a ride down to the 'photo studio' in mazlan's (our band driver) van, was made to wait again coz we were told there was a change in timing... so after awhile, we were told that we were waiting at the wrong room, so we hurried to the room where an officer is already waiting, we quickly dressed up for the photo shoot... its was over in like 10 mins and we were free to go... how dumb can it get right... lolx...anyway, after that, got change, then went yishun to get an organizer... before heading to nyp... was kinda looking forward to seeing all of them. coz usually camps are all fun... according to my past experience anyway... when i got there... all the flute section was sitting outside the room all looking tired... guess they had a rough day yesterday and this morning so didn't really asked them for practise, so i did some self practise instead... hoping to improve on my tone and all... but there is so little improvement... haiz... well i guess that is the limitation of an emerson flute i guess... then about evening time... sometime close to dinner time, the section seems more energetic after the rest so was preparing for practise... so i tot i help them in some sectional... or maybe i was the only one that took that session as a sectional... did a little warm up then process to a short session of the com piece... was kinda disappointed by the sectional in one way or another, which i dun wish to comment any further... after which i haven't talked much... went straight to the bandroom while the rest had dinner... hoping that sufficent warm up will kinda improve my tone... At 7 lao shi step in and practise started proper, ran through the concert pieces but bulk of the time was still spend on com pieces... then laoshi sort of gave a debrief speech, and then after practise i 'cleared the air' with the section regarding the sectional thingy... cannot remember how many 'seriously' i had said but i know i repeated and emphsised on that word umpteem times...lolx... For my part that is pretty much all i can do... i pray very hard everyday that a hope of news from saf that i can go wmc with them... and the letter they send out will reach my camp soon... but until today there wasn't any news... not even a rumour... so i kinda prepared myself to accept the fact... hence all i can do on my part is to help in the best i can... honestly, i am not a outstanding, or even a good player... i know its very clearly, so its doesn't really matter if i am in the competition anot... who knows, maybe i might be the cause of the band not getting the result they wan... haha... been telling myself that so as to reduce my urge to go and accept the fact that no being able to go is a fact... Anyway, no matter what, i will try my best to help the band on a whole, no matter wat... to prepare for it lah... had many wonderful memorise with this band and it would be sad to see them breakdown after the competition... hope they will bond and enjoy making music... thats all i ask from nypsb...

In conclusion, all i wan to say is work hard for the final month or so... coz u really reap what u sow... All the best and may the force be with all of u...

fantastic weekend

Good evening people!!! hope you guys had a great weekend, i know i did, that me summarised what i have did for the entire weekend... hope its not too lengthy... heez..

27 May 2005 Mummy's Birthday!!!
Today is my mother's birthday, was granted off for those involved in npd rehearsal the other time so got a good rest... woke up first thing in the morning is wished my mother happy birthday!!! heez could tell that she was really happpy when i past her the present... heez... i love u mum *muack... ahem okok enough of the mushy talk... was online the entire day, thinking of resting the day off as i am attending a concert by central band at night... so spend my entire morning doing stuff online and offline, then only in the evening went to raffles to meet up with the rest of the gang (including xiu, zhongxi, allison, ah tom, sasa, zhi sheng) After meeting up with them, proceeded to vch where we collect the tickets... its was packed with people, seems that james barns is very famous... oh yah... the concert was a showcase of all jame barnes songs and conducted by the composer himself... When we entered the concert hall waiting for everyone to settle down and ready for the concert... an irritating but huge butterfky kept hovering around where we are seeing... makeing all the girls around scream and all...found it rather amusing, xiu and karen was scared stiff... lolx... As soon as the concert commence, everyone sort of kept their volume down and enjoyed the concert... putting the 'butterfly incident' behind them... after the first song... jame barnes gave a little speech to a world premire song, 'Festive Music of Singapore' and he also joked by saying that he was purposely flew 10,000 miles to condcut tonight is to prove that not all composer are dead... haha got everyone laughing... then after another series of good music was a short intermission in which i took pictures with some of the members (will post and intro as soon as i get them from xiu), Second half was equally good... After the concert was offically over, quite a number of us waited at the side hoping to take a picture and get an autograph off Mr. Barnes, unfortunately, we didn't due to some unforseen circumstances... haiz... After concert was dinner at mac, after which we went over to the Central Business District where they took more pictures before calling it a day... there wasn't train back so i took bus 100 back home...

28 May 2005 We are going to the zoo zoo zoo!~!~!
Today woke up at about 750am, have a hot date with flute section to the zoo... its been ages since i last been there so i tot why not go take a look with them... got there by 840am (meeting at 9am), was the first one there... so waited for awhile before sherine arrived, then followed by fongcheng, the last to arrive on time, then was adeline, andy then karen... wai leng wasn't able to go as she was sick, jasmine and andy tan had to work... so was the 6 of us. First thing once we got there... started snapping like tourist (was told to pretend to be tourist... heez..) then after a series of shots, stop over at kfc for brunch... sinful meal... but was once in a while so it not that bad i guess.. heez...6 of us ate 2 8 piece family meal... with andy koh being the ultimate winner eating the most pieces of chicken... heez.. after a fulfilling meal, we made our way into zoo.. again, we snapped away like nobody's business, doing all sorts of weird pose at times... haha... After walking for several hours, could see the tiredness from all the girl's faces after catching the sealion show, we merely glance through the rest of the animals before calling it a day... oh yah... a very interesting incident happen halfway through... we saved a fish from its dead as it fell out of the mouth of a king fisher that flew past... i pick up the fish and threw it into the reservior nearby, felt great after that coz its a good deed done... heez... but the stench of the fish is... eww... haha okok After we exit the zoo.. we went to have ice cream at ben & jerry, its was nice... then, we made our way back to nyp for band prac... on the way got dinner... Lao shi concentrated on the com piece tonight... pretty sure that he is very serious in this... but some section was disappointing...especially the trombones... not a single one came... but overall its was ok... After prac, sherine wanted to go jalan kayu to makan, so me, andy and feng cheng went with her... had lots of laugh on the way as sherine, the english teacher, kept correcting andy's 'most best' english... lolx... then after which was home sweet home... fun day its truly was...

29 May 2005 Slack and photo day!!!
Had 2 fun days in a row, so thought i took the day easy today... first mission of the day, get my negative developed... change my wallet too, my okealy have served me well these past years... and its time for it to move on... now i am using a new wallet... heez.. got back from the shop, was practically doing things both online and off... aim is to relax... then about 7 in the evening... went to collect my photos... they are beautiful.... most of them at least, includes pictures from yesterday's trip, my thailand trip and also my fren angela's birthday (which was quite awhile ago...) now happily scanning them in... hopefully can show u by my next blog... once i get them organise... alright i guess that's it for today... tml will be late fall in, so will be going back to camp only tml morning... for now.. its back to more scanning as i still have 30 odd more to go... ryan 'seacrest' out!!! =P

18 May 2005 Herbert's 21st birthday
Today is a special day... its one of my good friend, herbert's 21st birthday!!! so first and for most, HAPPY BIRTHDAY BERT!!! offically and adult, hahaha congraz...Today is still a full working day, was suppose to meet herbert and gang for bday dinner at meritus mandrine hotel, tml is our trip to thailand and i haven't even done a single packing!!! Got home after work, tinking if early would do some packing, but ended up home at 630pm (meeting at 7pm) so came home drop my stuff, bath and rushed out of the house... Reached at a quarter past 7, met herbert at the lobby then went up to meet the rest whom already start dinning... its a rather posh place... buffet dinner to its finest...had so many oyesters, salmons and many many more... dessert was great too... pancakes with ice cream... power man... haha talking about it makes my mouth water... After we makan, was thinking of chilling at rouge... but ended up having a good time at Kbox cine... where we scream our lungs out... haha funny thing is that i wasn't shy about singing... unlike going to sing with my polymates... tink its because it all guys and we knew each others like ages therefore there isn't any pressure i guess.. Sang till about 1 plus before calling it a night coz everyone haven start packing and it a few hours before our fight... (we are taking the morning flight...) Reached home, did my packing before laying down to rest for a couple of hours...

19 May 2005 off to Thailand!!!
Hardly slept before being waken up by dad, took a shower to freshen up... then did last min checks before leaving the house... dad drove me to the airport... on the way gave me loads of advise, honestly, my head was so heavy from the lack of rest that i didn't really got most of it in... hee sorri dad, got to the airport, was the first one there, herbert and gang (dennes and terence) was still on the way, so sat down and waited for them, took litte shut eyes in between. when they got here... its about time to enter the gates... did all the neccessary ppaper work before entering the departure gate... was died excited, always love entering that gate... its like a whole new world of its own in there... walked around the shops for awhile as we still had time.... terence bought some cigeratte... then we proceed to the plane... took some pic along the way... heez...we flew jet start asia there... the seats wasn't as comfortable as i expected... its was rather cramp... for someone my height.. and as it was a small plane, every turn could be felt instantly.... was running a cold so was sneezing the entire time... thank god i had tissue with me... when we arrived at thailand... got sort of a culture shock as things there is so different from our airport... seeing their airport convinced me on why singapore is ranked one of the top airports in the world... after we clear the custom (which took a super long time) we got a cab to the hotel (asia hotel) Got there herbert and terence did the registration as we waited at the lobby, we did an illegal thing, we booked a room for 2 but have already decided to cramp all for of us in there... heez... budget wat to do.. got the room, drop the stuff, then make our way for shopping, first stop... Mak Bung Kong Market... super big shopping mall... found something to eat first as that was our first meal of the day and were famished... the food was alright but the dessert was superb... sticky rice with durian, mango and coconut ice cream... mouth watering...after that walked around... notice they were also showing STAR WARS so we tot we gave it a shot... haha the cinema was better then we though, the seats, the surround sound, the screens all very good lor...the funny part is that before the movie there was a min respect for the king, where everyone have to stand and pay respect to the king as the screen showed picture of the king, that is something new, thais really love their king man...heez... managed to survive through the entire movie (2 plus hours) while dennes spend most of the time sleeping, even in thoes fighting scenes...lolx...respect... after the movie, when walking around the place somemore, its was huge and immpossible to finish that evening... were looking around not planning to buy anything of the first day... juz looking at the prices to things... then we decided to get back to hotel as everyone was died tired... got some snacks from the 7-11 nearby for 'dinner' that was first day...

20, 21, 22 May 2005 Shopping shopping and more shopping...
Shall not elaborate too much on these... basically... we started shopping at all the different happening market around... its great fun seeing herbert and gang doing bargaining with the hawkers... learned abit myself also... there is loads of stuff in their market... from food to clothings, to decorations... its like local pasa malam but in way bigger scale... one of the market (Chatuchup- this is how its pronounce but not sure the spelling) even have sale for puppies... and they are really cheap... one pup coat about 50 bucks sing... so cute... Besides all this, we also when 'window shopping' on the high end shops... like burberry, LV, CK, Fendi etc, felt like a different class walking into these shops... was so tempted to get a burberry polo t which cost about SGD 100 plus... but didn't in the end... this few days in thailand was the only time after BMT that i have walked such vast distance... I believe we at least covered close to 15 - 20 km a day during our trip on foot... during the trip we also did reward ourselve with foot massage... was really good... but most money was spend on shopping, didn't even took that much of photos, compared to my other trips... Overall its a really fun trip...

23 May 2005 Last day in thailand...
Today, we did all the final shopping with all the money we had left... had to change more money as there wasn't much left to spend... was pretty determine and spending watever left... as its wasn't really worth changing the money back to SGD, its really shop till we drop... First was MBK market, then got back to the hotel to put our stff before proceed to some of the market that we have been to for final buys... by the time we got back to the hotel, its past midnight, and as herbert and terence have a final foot massage with whatever money left... me and dennes went back to start packing as we are leaving on the first flight back tml... got ourselves plenty of beer in the hotel to drink... by the time i am done packing, basically finished 4 big bottles of beer... lolx.. head was died heavy.... so as the rest of the gang packed i sleep... didn't really realised that i bought quite abit of things until the packing session... bought mainly local tibits on the final day... and also a huge backpack... lucky for that if not i am not sure of how i am going to carry all my stuff back... was going to miss the sights and sounds of thailand... but definately not the poplution... lolx..

24 May 2005 Singapore, here we come!!!
8am, got our stuff and depart to bangkok international airport... checked in our stuff and flew home on tiger air, its free seating therefore we got to the gate early for good seats... the plane was slightly delayed due to so technical problem but after that it was a smooth ride home... (better then jetstarasia i must say) once touch down in singapore airport.... the warm reception from our airport was so great am... all the familiar sights and sounds... missed it so much man.... bought a tequlia and volka rasberry from the duty free before collecting our luggages... had a commotion outside the arrival hall as we saw joanne siah and tay ping hui doing a flim shoot nearby... wanted to take a pic with them.. but didn't had the chance as the gang was hungry and wants food... so no choice... mum cooked dinner so i headed home first... took a train down to aljunied first before taking a cab home (cheaper that way) After dinner, rushed down for band prac... so dedicated right...lolx... anyway practise was fun... almost forget how to play... lost my ambrochure and all... took quite awhile to pick it up... can tell that the pressure was on for WMc as lao shi is getting more strict on the quality of the music... after prac, lao shi gave a speech clearly hinting to those that is not going for the competition to stop comoing for prac... was rather sadden coz i was one of them...or likely to be... but well i guess that was the only way to actually guage the actually strength of the band... so if i have to go i have to go...lolx. headed home straight after prac to unpack my luggage... rest shortly after my bath as i have work the next day....

This is basically my trip summarised... this it a pretty long entry already... hahah alright then shall blog more when i have the time... and shall post some of the photos once its developed.... ciaoz....

Busy weekend

Hey there peepz... Must be wondering why i am still here early this Monday morning, when tommorrow is a working day and i am suppose to be in bed right... well that is because tml is an OFF DAY *laugh contentedly* There is nothing interesting on tv so i thought i come and blog a little on yesterday (sunday) and the day before...

Satuarday 14 May 2005 Sectional and Eski

Usually will sleep to my hearts content on a saturday coz its rest day after a week of 'hard' work, and since there wasn't npd rehearsal, the better to rest at home... But this week woke up early cause i have promised to conduct sectionals for Nypsb flute section, was tinking as wmc is closing in, they would need all the help thhey can get... and since i am still pretty much unsure whether or not i am able to go, i play my part first to strengthen the section... was looking forward to it, was informed that key players (or more experienced players) like Sherine, Andies will not be attending the session due to work and other reason, kinda disturbed mainly i won't be able to guage the standard and the strenght or the section, but was not really bothered about it as i knew their individual strenght and will not be too much of a trouble get them to working together... Was thinking of working things out with 2nd flute first... since they can be considered the 'unstable' lot... Got there 1/2 hour early so bought breakfast then proceed to the bandroom... Got into the sports hall, recieved a msg from karen saying that she is sick so she is not coming, 1 down 4 to go (was expecting an attendance of 5 out of 8 which is their total strenght for flute), then wai leng msg telling me she will be late coz she left someting at home... the only one on time was adeline... so i asked her to relax since it was still early and wait for the rest... had breakfast with xiu... wai leng walked in about 11.30 (sectional suppose to start at 11)... After breakfast, was actually having a little 'band pract' with the rest of the members present outside the bandroom, asked WL and Adeline to join in since we are still waiting for feng cheng, but was a short session coz meiting asked them into the bandroom to practise... did abit of Festa Pasana, and since the 2 of them have queries on that piece i thought i work on that piece first...Went to SE (String Ensemble) room for sectional, started off without FC (its was close to 12 and no sign of her... incontactable too) Was informed that Jasmine is not coming also due to some unknown reason, 2 down, 1 MIA, left 2.... super disappointed... am i taken for granted... i really wonder at times... Anyway spend the next couple of hours working on that piece, make sure that they got the piece and the notes right... concentrating on intonation and dynamics (coz that is what they lack)... got a sorry msg from fong cheng somewhere in the mids of the session (can't really remember the time) and they (feng chang and andy koh) arrived at 2 plus (sectional was ending at 3, and i was close to ending that piece). After i finished the entire piece, briefly went through the entire piece again, (to see if all i have been teaching paid off and partly, for fc and andy)... Kinda contented that they improved in that song, in terms of its dynamics, and lesser wrong notes... but intonation still have to be worked on... And that was sectional, spent the entire 3 hours or so on one piece... time consuming but result shown.... juz hope its not forgotten... After sectional, hanged around in the bandroom for awhile, playing the piano and forming our own percussion ensmble, was fun and lots of laugh... Finally decided to leave at about 5 coz meeting at night to go eski bar (a place reccomended by wei xiang and andy)

Evening got home to change, was told that the place was super cold and will be unsuitable to go in bermudas and t-shirt... so i changed to jeans and a long sleeve shirt... xiu was at my place coz she didn't want to go home and meet us again since we are meeting like in less then an hours time... was suppose to meet wei xiang at 7, but after delays here and there, me and gang (xiu, zhong xi, allison, feng cheng) only got there at about 7.30, haha he was abit pissed but was ok after a few jokes... some of them where hungry, so we went to grab a bite at Bk first since its was still rather early to club... Met up with andy... then proceed to the bar... upon entering the place... one word, COLD, we were breathing out vapour, the place was at about 2 degrees (from the thermometer) and the bartop and the light shades are made of ice... cool argh... then there was another door, inside which leads to a lounge area.. its not that cold there, about the tempreture when we were in sydney on the hottest day about 14 to 15 degrees... they found it not much of a kick, so we challenged ourselve and went back out to the 'icy bar top'. I have to agree it was rather cold for the first few mins, and i was shivering (for a guy that is not really afraid of cold, its an usual sight) but after awhile when i adapt to the temp i was alright... Everyone else was using sweater the pub provided except me... heez as usual strong mah what to do... haha *bhbism* Ordered drinks and we played alot of games, from 5,10,15 to hei bai chey, and zhong ji mi mah.. the forfeit was to eat ice... first time found eating ice such a difficult task... did alot of stupid stuff also, but overall was really fun coz there was lots of laughter and everyone was enjoying themselve... Xiu, Sasa and wei xiang had to leave early (about 10 plus) so i was left alone with the 2 couple, Andy & Fong cheng, Zhong Xi & Allison, was feeling oddly bright... Anyway we continued zhong ji mi ma till about 11 close to 12 when the rain subsided (it started raining heavily shortly after the first gang left)... Went Mac for a bite, coz andy say he was hungry... after bite, its was 12 plus, already missing the last train, so we walked to lao pasah coz its easier to flag a cab there... was still drizzling but we didn't care... saw bus 100 so was tinking of taking bus... but i guess that bus we saw was the last bus... so went back to the plan of taking a cab... fc and andy left first... and me ally and zx shared then next one... tink i stand in the rain too long... was sneezing rather badly (felt a cold coming on...) send zx home first then me, then ally.... Reach home at about 1am, had a quick wash up, then pop 2 panadol extra before heading to bed... dog tired...

Sunday 15 May 2005 SIA cup, International racing festival

Woke at a 11.30pm, sneezing stop (thx god) took a shower and prepare to head to camp for parade... Got to camp about 1.30, met morrison and han qiang (my staff and bandmate) in the bus, then got to bunk and change, got a ride up to the whitehouse, love weekend parades, coz everyone seems to drive so its save the time from walking to the whitehouse... Got there, rehearsed a few of the pieces before leaving for the turf club... pretty excited coz haven't been there before (not to the age limit yet) the place its big... nothing like those i went while in aussie a few year ago... first race was at 3 plus, had 1/2hr for lunch, had a huge plate of chicken rice, was famished, the kind auntie gave me abit more rice... After a satisfied stomach, went back to our holding area to prepare... the place was filling up fast and before the first race the place was half or rather filled... talking about singapore being a national gambling den man.. haha... as soon as the green light for the first race starts off, we changed up and prepare for the performance... played a fanfare and a short piece after that was rest till the next race... so we undress and waited for the next race which is shortly after the first one... after the first few, its became such a norm and its starts to get bored... luckly i got Adrain Mole to accompany me, spent most of my waiting time reading... we had 9 rounds of that and by the time its was the 9th time... everyone was pretty much excited againg coz its was time to go back... left the turf club at about 9.30pm, got back camp at about 10, got back to bunk, bath and went supper with them till about 11 plus then took a cab home... got home, ate somemore coz i asked mum to buy me dinner... then watch tv... and nothing much on so i came onli... heez.. that is pretty much my weekend...

Later, will be pretty packed too... coz have a whole list of things to do... and tonight going back camp coz on duty on tuesday morning... anyway that will be mention most probably when i come online again i guess... meanwhile have a good rest and have a fulfilling day ahead then... nites and lotsa love hugs and kisses...!!!

Yet another week....

Hello people, a week have past again, and i am one week closer to my thailand trip... in fact its juz next week... can't wait man... lolx... will write about my this week in a more different style then usual...

Monday May 9th start of a new week

Stayed in last night, didn't like the idea of having to travel early in the morning...
Morning had an uninterrupted slp until kum wai [KW] (one of my bunkmate) starts blabbering about the game he played to joel (another bunkmate that slp rights beside me) at the top of his voice... why does he have to speak that loadly when they are only about 20 steps away... i wonder sometimes. Dragged myself out of bed, thinking i was on duty for the week till KW tell me he was on duty, argh... there goes my 15 mins of dreamland timing!!! Staff Maswan made us practise for the welcome ceremony for the Pakistan PM...Sun was rather scorching considering its still morning, going to have an uneven tan again...

Noon Watched abit of Million dollar Baby the movie in the library (dun tell anyone coz we are not really suppose to...)

Evening after work had dinner at the cookhouse, then return to bunk... and after about an hour of rest (digestion) went to bed... woke up did somethings and when straight back to bed... what a PIG!

Tuesday May 10th Arrival of Pakistan PM

Had a very good rest last night, haven't slept for so many hours in ages... had last min rehearsal for today's parade, which happen to be at 5PM!... After lunch we took the transport to istana, reach at about 2 plus, waited for an hour for the other unit to arrive, total waste of time... rehearse once through for all weather, was drizzling but have to stand in it anyway, Just my luck! End up what we have rehearse was a waste due to the rain, was changed to indoor, got semi drenched for no reason... Pakistan reps are really rude, cutting through the band in the mids of welcoming our PM, luckily we were alert enough not to be affected by these people... shortly after Pakistan PM arrived, played their athem followed by ours then thats it... some parade yah... Got the privilige to direct book out from there, have something important to attend... have to thank my fren Kris for bringing my uniform back for me... After attending to my 'impt matter' went for band prac at nyp... Got back to using my Emerson, the feeling its just not right... Where are you my beloved Altus... probably in the hands of your new owner *sob*

Wednesday May 11th Kindom of Heaven

Staff gave halfday for those who did COG the last time, and those that didn't (including me) will have to clear my own off, just my luck! said its to reward us for a good job done yesterday... well i think otherwise... Left camp about 12.30pm, didn't go home, so decided to rot in town... Conqured far east, Lido, Wisma, taka, Hereen, and finally stopped at Cine... dead bored, no shopping mood... or rather cannot afford to shop, abit tight on the finances... ended up reading at long johns sliver for at least a couple of hours, then met up with Karen and Sasa for Movie, Kingdom and Heaven... Nice movie, worth watching...

Thursday May 12th Band Band Band...

Today its been a rather enjoyable day since i stepped into band coz we played pieces the entire day!!!

Morning we had rehearsal for an "outreached program" prepared ny WASBE, played and sight-read alot of pieces... played fifth suite by alfred reed, different sound compared to nyp... (nyp sounded better, but considering its sight-reading session, its wasn't that bad).

Afternoon Practise for a performance this coming sunday, at the singapore turf club, SIA cup, fancy playing for some horses....

Evening Rushed down to NYP for pract with nothing but my piccolo... used jasmines flute (ALTUS!!!) Enjoyed dinner after band with the usual gang before heading back camp... seems that its faster travelling by bus then by train, will take bus next time... Altus i miss u already... when will be meet again...

Friday May 13th Bad Omen?

Morning done some PT while seniors (or close to ORD personnels) have their IPPT, was lifting weight when i felt the bone of my right shoulder shift... not a good omen, stopped and played table tennis (with extra caution) instead... was tinking of a diip in the pool since lunch is longer today, but was asked to shift bunk, as new trainees are coming in... spent the entire afternoon cleaning the new bunk and shifting stuff over... wasted the fine weather, rotten luck! afternoon did another practise for sunday... and thats the day... simple yet well scheduled...

That is my week... heez... strange way to present it... but well got the idea from the book i am reading now, The Secret diary of Adrian Mole Aged 13 3/4, not a bad book i would say... have a chance give it a flip... its nice... anyway guess thats all i have, do have a great weekend ahead... best of health and MAY PEACE BE UPON YOU!!!

Mother's day

Hello guys and gers... Its Mother's Day!!! i hereby wish all mums and mother-to-be a very happy mother's day, and mum juz wanna let you know that you are the greatest in the whole wide world!!! I LOVE YOU *muack*

Woke up to a wet morning today, didn't really want to go out as its was mother's day and it would be pretty bad to go out leaving mum at home all alone on her day... so being the good boy that i am ... (ahem..) i stayed home to accompany her... seems that he tummy isn't giving her as much problem le, that is such a relief to see... but still got complain of occasion weakness, likely caused by the excessive visits to the toilet, so most of the time i would juz ask her to take a seat and rest... today other then spending time with mum, actually spent alot of time surfing the net and on the tv as well... i mean thats practically what you can do at home right... was thinking about going beach road with herbert, but due to some communication break down (at my end), caused the trip to be cancelled... well later will be going to camp and will sort of signal the start to my "7 day work week" i guess...

Alot of things concerning money is bugging me now... lolx... mainly i am trying to say alot of things to buy but dun have the capital to do so... Flute, holland trip, digital camera, all requires MONEY and if i get one the other will not be possible to get... argh... growing white hair juz thinking what i am going to do... get flute and no Holland and digital camera... even though Holland is not really possible, but judging from Meiting's confidence... its giving me the slightest chance of going man... but i also wish to get that Canon Ixus 7 camera... very fan right... well, if only army pay won't so low, i would be able to afford all that...lolx... but well thats life i guess... heez... u can't possibly own everything (not when u are an average joe like me lah)... Actually my major concern is the flute now... the more i use it the more attached i grew to it.... really cannot bear to part with it... but not being able to buy it holding it will be meaningless too right... haiz... should i return it before i grow to attached to it? i really don't know... its not said that the flute is a superb one... but i feel comfortable using it i guess... Need to take a step at a time liao ba...if i am not going holland and not getting the trip, that means the camera is a muz buy liao... hahahah.... so its alot of consideration... anyone can give me any advise? Most ask me to set my priorities... i did, Flute and Camera will bt more top then Holland coz the chances of getting that is the slimmest with all that activities pilling during that period of time... however if i am confirm not getting the flute then i have to part it soon... so that at least the other buyer don't have to wait... a pity, but what to do if i have no money... lolx... ok lah...shall not let all my "finanical problem" affect my dear readers already....

You guys have a great week ahead and stay cool k.... PEACE!!!

Busy week

Halo people, its end of the week again... haha usually people look forward to the weekend as they can let down their hair and relax... but that doesn't apply to everyone, at least not for me... heez... have to go back to work tml... can u imagine... working on a saturday!!! argh.. there goes my weekend... BURNT...

Lets talk about the week that have just passed... started the week on a tuesday, after a long weekend of diarrhoea and fever... fever was gone but the tummy was still giving a rampage... but manage to tahan the morning, where we had rehearsal drills for Navy anniversary parade and NDP... whenever break was given, toilet was my resting point... After much persuasion, decided to visit the medical center after lunch, needed to get something done there anyway so went to see the doc at the same time, one stone kill 2 bird... Got there and it was wait, wait and more wait by the time i was done, half the day was gone, got back to the whitehouse took my medication and rest awhile, lucky there wasn't anything to do in the afternoon... and that ended my work, evening, braved the rain to go nyp for band prac... always enjoy the company of frens and also playing band pieces (rather then marching pieces)... heez... but lao shi ended pretty late so had to rush back to camp straight after prac... got a few bread bun for dinner since didn't have any appetite... Wednesday was pretty much the same but staff was kind to give us halfday to rest and all, as we need to fall in real early (like 6 plus) on thursday for Navy parade, so me, kris, boon wah and zhi xun juz went town to walk walk and look around... after that we return back to camp where they continue gaming and i decide to turn in after a shower about 11 plus... tummy didn't gave much problem, was on the road to recovery... Thursday Navy parade... was 45 mins to and hour long, almost killed me... but have to learn to endure longer as the upcoming parades are twice this lenght jia you ba... then was given more time to rest when we got back...was going to nyp again when it started raining again... wonder its juz something that usually happens in the afternoon, or juz a sign... haha Anyway, today, was a sad day, its the cremation of a great man, the peoples' president, Dr. Wee Kim Wee, we had the privilige to got to his place to 'escort' him out to mandai... so when we fall in this morning, we made all the neccessary preparation, and since it was such a big event, even those about to ORD personnel that is clearing leave are recalled back... after lunch, just about time when we are about to leave for his premise, the heaven rained so heavily that people get wet even indoor... however the strange thing was when we got there, the rain stop and there was no sign of the sun, its was cloudy a little windy... guess a great man does deserves a honorable last respect, even by the heavens... we played as the coffin is being carried out, the place was heavily guarded, and there was the media and many people, mostly those leaving nearby coming to pay their last respect... once in the vehicle, we marched with the vehicle behind us for a distance before it proceed to mandai, sort of a symbol of his last journey i suppose... it was indeed a sad moment... by the time we got back camp its was already 5 plus, and that sort of ended my week... many things done in a short 4 days... more coming next week i think but well... take a week at a time i guess... heez.. got things to do time pass faster i always say...

It only now that i know that stomach flu is contagious, coz i have spread my illness to my MUM... feel terrible when i first got to know it... have been pretty worried about her in camp, she got it since wednesday, so have been calling her frequently to check on how she is doing, seeing her suffering what i have gone though make my heartaches coz i know how terrible it feels, losing appetite, going toilet like nobody's business, then feeling weak and all... haiz... really pray she gets well really really soon... So many people falling ill... please take good care of ur health... its really not very nice to be ill, so STAY HEALTHY K... drink lotsa water, eat properly and exercise regularly....!!!

sickly mayday

Evening of may day, or more commonly known as labour day, as all the working class gets there well deserved rest, I spend the day at home nursing my condition (oh yah and the frequent visit to the toilet)... Woke up at about 11 this morning, feeling much better compared to yesterday, maybe because i have got a sounder sleep, the fever is gone and i had more energy... As it seems that everything is back to normal, nature calls, my diarrhoea had yet to leave me... Spent the rest of my day "inspecting" the toliet at home, (trying not to make it sound so gross lah...)

Anyway, was suppose to have COG parade today, was tinking of going, but the endless visit to the toilet drained the thought out of me... so i ended up sitting on the sofa all day and have a 'date' with harlem, ah ya and xiao S (Super sunday)... Mum was there too, making sure that i am ok... and i am eating again... but food dun seems very appealing to me now... donno why, the sight of food turns me off, like those kfc advertisments... made me almost puke man... this morning had a chicken and char xiu bao for breakfast, practically forced it down my throat, so my mum won't worry... other then that, had abit of fish and prawn porride for dinner... usually i would finish the entire pot with ease... but today i struggle with a plate man... haiz really wish its will all turn out will and i can recover real soon...

This coming tuesday i will be BO (band orderly aka duty musician) for band A for a week, really hope i can be strong enough to do it man... Argh... haiz... anyway, going for my 'excursion' to the loo again... already lost count on the number of times i have visited the place... but wat the heck... this is all.... people please take good care of yourself k... even though you might seem really strong, but when the illness bug is hooked on to u no matter how strong u are u will still fall ill... so take good care k... i am a very good example...

sick may....bad omen

Argh.... i am sick, what a way to start of the new month...so sian... toilet have become my 2nd home... and the fever bug juz seems to like me alot... but lucky there is no sore throat and stuff... hate that...

This morning, woke up (or rather forced myself up) as i have not have a sound slp the entire night... then was feeling super weak, like all the energy have been drained out of me overnight, took me quite awhile to stand and walk to my mums room, so felt my forehead and she say its was very hot, so she brought me to the polyclinic fearing i might have got dengus coz of all the mosquito bites i got from camp the pass few days... When to hougang branch, and the place was packed despite its a weekend, its was a long waiting process before actually seeing the doctor and after that more waiting for the medicine... by the time i got home was about 2 (we went at 10 plus), first thing i did was had my medication and went to slp... was more sound compared to last night... but waking up occasionally for toilet...juz woke up like a couple of hours ago... had some porridge mum made... and that was all i had for the entire day... coz no appetite, and more visits to the toilet... hmm starting to wonder if the charcoal pills issued by the doc is effective....

Tml, COG... was thinking of going, but with my current condition, mum see it is not possible for me to make the trip, so she rang my staff and inform him... thx mum... and i have mc tml so the more she tinks i should rest tml... heez.. the doctor was actually quite shock to hear i have to work tml actually coz its may day (labour day) but gave me mc nonetheless...

Feeling aweful man.... really worried that my intestines will be coming out next coz there really haven't anything else left for me to "dispose" wonder what i had to cause this man... juz hope i will recover in time for the coming months as they are super busy... and i dun wan to be left out... ONE BAND ONE SOUND... lolx... okok guess i will keep my entry short today... the toilet is calling me again... ciaoz pplez... take good care yah...
