Internship...

Today marks the end of my 2nd week internship for my course. I realise how long I have not been blogging, that is because things has been so rush for my past sem, I don't even have time to come online, what more visit and update my blog. But here I am, after 2 weeks of mad rush... finally some time alone, to update how things are going.

My last sem ended in a rush... honestly, got to be the most tedious sem I had thus far. Wonder if the modules are dry or just because my first sem doing all modules. (Kudos to those that have survive 4 modules all these while man!!!) After that sem, it was a quick 5 days break before commencing my internship. Honestly, everything has zipped past so fast that I hardly have time to think back on what has already happened.

Anyway, for those that donno, I am working for an event firm called MicroVic as an event coordinator. Some might wonder why I am doing this when I am suppose to be gaining experience from hotels instead. My thinking was hotels deals with events too... so its ok to learn from the events end about hotels too... yes i don't get much exposure on hotel operation, but I sure learn plenty about banquet during my events... so not so bad lah.

I have learn alot from just 2 weeks and am looking forward to the rest of my internship, as I pretty much have an idea on things that will be going for months to come. Working on holiday eve is inevitable (New Years Eve) but am suprise there is nothing for Christmas just yet. One things I still need getting used to is the working hour... till 7 and its so off town that when I leave office, it would be 8 already. But waking up early, I feel really good, just bring me back to my army daze i guess.

Apart from that, I will try to blog as often as I can... meanwhile, take good care everyone, and HAPPY HOLIDAYS in advance!!!

News news... and decision

Share some recent news, good as well as bad.... Lets start with the Bad then.... Economy, guess everyone have been concern over it... as the financial tsunami from America finally hit our shores... The impact is really great, the damages cause, the loss in monetary value and all... and unemployment rate likely to go up... OMG.... Not that it affects me much, but still.. can feel the pressure lor... much more now then when I am a kid.... hahaha like duh, then I dun have to earn my own living in that sense.... Today's news paper, IR no likely to open as plans, as works have been delayed for few months. In that case why did we strink our course, I wonder.... My course was initally scheduled for 3 years, and we had to compress everything to 2 years, having struggle 4 modules a sem each sem lasting about 4 months. ITS ALL A RUSH MAN!!!! and now this.... plus the recent internship drama, most hotel rejecting coz the 3.5 months is too short a time, so why not increase it back to 6 mths!!! haiz... I know many things is out of my control and honestly I like typical human, when things goes smooth keep quiet, but when it goes wrong, will be eager to voice out... but what else can we do?

Anyway thats the Bad news, for the good news, nothing much to do with my studies, just more to the removal of the 30cents fuel charge. Its just takes one company to do so before the others follow suit... hahah seeing how the biggest taxi company kana shoot in today's paper, commoners being interview were disappointed that the company that proposed to take away the fuel charge is from a smaller company, when the one anxious to implement it then was the biggest company... hahaha ironic isn't it? hehez.. but nevertheless, at least its 30 cents lighter for out pocket... dun tink it does make a difference... it does man!!!

Fairprice continue to give discount on its items... so help the public, I guess its an appropriate time they did it as it not only help us as consumer, but also used this chance to gain back some market shares from intensive competition as supermart starts springing up everywhere!!!

Back to the IR delay thingy.... now that it is likely there will be delay in the launch in the Marina Bay one and soft launch going on the Sentosa one in 2010, I am considering if I should take my education one step further.... I am talking about doing Honors program... The course that I am currently doing does not come with an honors program, as in not compulsory. But beginning this sem I recieved a letter from the school (SCU that is) to do their honors program (heng heng only lah =P). Suprise yet elated... but after much consideration, still make me very lost as to whether or not to take it up.

First, finance, if I take it, I have yet to find out how much its going to cost me. the current course have already build up such a 'debt' for me already. The offered scholarship only cater to their local students... which means no point for me to apply...

Second, Time, a full time honors will take me a year (commencing 2009) and part time will be 2 years. Likely going for the former lah... but if it includes part of my attachment and final sem, which can be pretty tough altogether...

I have a month to consider... i really donno, its very pressing, yet... i think i should do so... what should i do....

Back to square one...

For many that has been wondering what really happened after my 16th week of training. Disappointingly, I was not able to keep up my momentum, and yes... I have slacked back in shape... My best shape will be in week 9 which look something like this

Since then, I kept things up but gradually slacked off in terms of committment. I know it is an excuse, but things slipped since I started school again (started the regime during holidays), the amount of commitment to working out shorten as my emphasis went to my studies... I am returning to my old ways, rather then just grabbing my shoes for a run when i feel like, I would consider, then look at the gloomy sky and think twice. This usually ends up in not running, after convincing myself that it will rain, and pfft, normally it does not....

Many of my frens say i have "bulked up" something I dun mind, but I know its because I am growing sideways. Understanding that I already face dieting issues during my 16 weeks training, I was still able to compensate as the regime i gone through was able to compensate for my lousy diet control. But as things turn bad with my regime, the balance start to tip and so did my weight. I would I happy with no gaining any weight, but am not happy coz I have not lost any too. (considering I was close to 72 kg at one point of time and now i am 76kg). I try convincing myself I have gain muscles, but honestly, who am I kidding... HAHAHA

Its is true that to attain a balance and get the tone body one wants... is a combination of DIET + HARD WORK. This is the old school and health way to do things lah... I mean there is of course the "manufactured" methods... which comes with a cost lah... I am a classic example of this formula coz I can never get myself into the perfect triangle lor. The formula to good health and a nice body is a balance of DIET, CARDIO, and WEIGHTS Training. Sounds simple, very hard to achieve...

For everyone's information, my tummy is back... bigger then ever... so yah... doubt will be posting any pic here for now, won't want to scare the daylight out of anyone... hahaha

Will continue to battle... I believe I will attain it one day.... JIA YOU BA!!!!

Internship Saga...

As anyone have not already guess, yes, my school has put alot of student in a spot, tight spot to be precised. And before I blabber on this, let me give you a rough picture...

We are suppose to go for internship after this semester. Everything is not really in place yet. We do a degree in Hotel and Resort, and so far out of the list of potential employers, only one of which is a hotel. The rest ranged from Jurong Birdpark, to fine dinning restaurant doing waitressing, to Underwater world. Honestly, if you are me how are these related to our course... I donno. The best of the crop have Singapore Island county club (compared to the rest of course) I mean this are all based on my own opinion and honestly.. even after today's trashing session, I am not very happy still.

I see where the school is coming from, taken for the fact that our internship period is so short, and also since our course should exposed us to anywhere within the service industry, which pretty much determined their choice of employers. Like our director said, its about learning experience, he went on to talk about all the possibilities that we can learn. Honestly at that point of time I am just too tired and kinda pissed ba.. will talk about it later. Back, our director was telling us all the possibility that we can learn as a waiter. I see his point, honestly I do, being a fine dinning restaurant and all, the clients you face are no ordinary dinner and service quality is definitely something to master, benefit yes. But seeing the period we are there, how willing are these places to teach us? that is another problem. Its not that we are lazy and just want a title but not do work, all they want is to gain as much from the employer as much as what the employer hopes to gain from us I guess. hope its not confusing...

Anyway, there was this guy name CK, I really think he was crap talking, coz he suddenly tried to make his presence felt by "adding his view" into the situation, which I totally dun get what he is driving at except that we are spoilt brats that should learn more of the english (or aussie) style of working. He mention that we are very disciplined since young, and has been spoonfed every step of the way, then I guess he got lost in what he had said and started to say something about its the experience of learning. I was like WTF... To me, what I am getting from his little speech was "we are already spoon feeding you spoilt brats in the best of our abilities, if you are not happy also bo bian" that kinda thing... I felt it would be better that he didn't talk at all... remain hidden in the shadows at least we won't see how dumb he is... hahaha honestly talking without thinking...

Enough on that character, If you ask me, I see todays session pretty redundent, thou I get to see the challenge the new management has to face, the "old MDIS culture" from the rest of the staff, and so called debate and trashing session turning into a useless lecture. Everyone was pretty much quiet, but only a few brave soul try to voice out, but before we can finish what we have to say, we get interrupted and the vicious "lecture" cycle will result. The bottom line I got from today's session is that we should just take the internship, finish it, and F off... hahaha

On the other side, I will have to say that the students are depending too much on the school, not that they are wrong doing so coz it was originally within their job scope. However, will remain in a leaking boat that jump into the sea and swim for safety? This is what I didn't understand from them I guess. Taking the schools' word for it, that they are trying their best and all continue to help them secure better positions. Please lah, can you really be that naive to think that once they find you one position, they will still bother to source for another for u? I donno lah honestly, I just feel that both party have a role to play and this saga rage out due to poor communications and plain assumption and jumping into conclusions...

Apart from this saga, I, being the only evening class student there, voiced out the concerns and unhappiness about the administration, thou they say they will handle it and seemingly pushing the blame to Vaani, I honestly will not dare take their word for it again. We shall see as it goes... Right now, I dare say that there are 3 groups within MDIS Tourism Mgt side; the strong newbie, the sly oldies, and the kana shoot party... Its going to be a tough war.... and am sad to be a victim of it.. but what to do... i hate to say it... but I chose the school... will reconsider my options again thou....

Thats it for now...

But what many full time student are stating that they would prefer something in the hotel, with more relevance to the course. I mean they are not wrong to say that too... for the fact that, hey thats what we are promised in the first place.

Blast from the past...

Had a great time talking about the past with May today, haha all started from a little card she found when she was cleaning up... a card that I made for them before enlisting into the army... spark a whole lot of wonderful memories from my Aussie trip

B4, or beauty 4, members include May, Irene, Xiu and Carol (plus sherine and zhong xi to form R&R)... hahaha and I was the manager, cum nanny cum everything else that comes with it... The cold weather in Bathrust, the crazy cam whoring session by the river. My famous "shit" hairdo hahaha that was a classic.... A wonderful evening in Eddy's bar, people getting high and couldn't even hit the ball while playing pool, that would be a game with the most free ball i guess... HAHAHA...

Sydney, Pizza in the hotel room (yum), Girly times, where i buff nails for "my girls" and I did do a good job hahahah OMG... hahah thinking back on it fun lah... Hard Rock cafe, many many times... hahaha Giving morning calls to irene almost everyday, she dreads me till today... HAHAHA oh and that unforgetable feeling of lost when half the band went back a day earlier and i got to stay an additional day, but was dead broke and dearest Carol bought me a sandwich for dinner with whatever she had left too... hehez... wonderful times.

Poly days, KTV kakis is abundence, when there is an urge to K, everyone is like on standby man... Haha, many 4 hours of crazy times... laugh like mad people, always exiting the room feeling like we had just gone through a rock concert... hahah Band camps, steamboats in schools...

Good old days, sweet beautiful memories...

Back in those days....

Enough on love for now, I guess many people will have many views to that and that four letter word will carry on as one of world's greatest unsolved mystery I guess... now to something I would like to call "back in those days"... I am sure everyone of us have their fare share of it... At least heard of it... Like parents will tell you "Back in those days, a bowl of noodles would cost only 5 cents" or "Back in those day, we have to spend 30 mins walking to and fro school". The list goes on lah...

When I was young, I used to think that such "speech" is how our parents try to tell us how tough it is to make a living and how fortunate we are. In those years, only elders say such speech, and I am surprise that today, I am already making such speech... Back in those days when you can get a decent meal with $2 or $5 can get u a full macdonald meals. Now a days, where ever I look, kids carry PSP if not DS lite... what happened to those days when we play paper plane, play zero point (with ropes made of rubber bands), police and thief and block catching? I wonder

Is this related to why many of our youths are so fragile now? the numbers died in army now is way more than those in the past and in the past... its suppose to be tougher... as least from all the tales I hear from my uncle and all... I wonder... but honestly the fact that I can make such "speech" now shows how fast the world is going... and when u run to fast and fall... you are going to get bruised bad... what the economy facing now... they run fast... things was good... so they push.. push push.. till they cannot take it no more... and one plunge sees many casualties... oh well... its just human nature, they only see the roots to things when times are bad...

Those were the days....

Regarding Love

I received quite abit of feedback for my last post, thanks everyone for sharing of views, brings whole new light to definition LOVE. A power four letter word in many many ways... And really, there is a difference in how gender makes a difference in these four letter word. I am not going to start a gender debate here. Coz honestly, I feel it boils down to feelings I guess.... how sensitive are you... there are many kinda of portrays of love.... I can just think of a few for now...

The MCP (Male Chuvanist Pig)
This does not refer to only males, suprisingly, many girls are also developing such attitude. I guess its can be truely reflected not only because the person's upbringing, but also when the Love he/she put in is not greater then the other party... the tendency for this character to appear is very high. They often think highly of themselve, and deserve to be pampered, and all his/ her action is pampering his/her partner. Things usually goes their way... and often those attached to this kinda people are....

The Sticky tapes
This kinda can also be found in both genders.... this is the case where they are the 'giver' of love, put in un-conditionally, but definately hope something back in return. Usually the one getting hurt... Not understanding why the other party cannot compromised to themselve like how they compromise to them. All they want to be is in these world of Love, just the 2 of them, and see happy ever after. But the sorrow within them is seldom see... They are the great Pretender.

Hmm... that is my version of the takers and givers i guess.... I am sure many begs to differ... so just share with me.... hehe

What is love???

Hey there haven't been blogging for so long, sorry, honestly been very busy with my assignment, but manage to sneak a breather here and there lah. Heez... Anyway, there is nothing wrong with my love life, its blissful as ever hahaha... But its things happening around me... my fren's love probe me to write this blog.

Which is more blissed? To love or to be love? honestly, from my view there must be a balance. What is love then? I heard True Love is about giving everything and hoping nothin in return, is it really true? Do such thing happen in real life? especially in todays' context? I really wonder. Is love about possesion, give and take? if so, how much to give? how much to take? Is love really the greatest feeling on earth, surpassing friendship even? I wonder...

How do we strike a balance? Do we expect the other party to like what we like, to always want to spend time with each other, and freedom to make friend be bounded by the word relationship/ love? Is this love?

I believe love is express in many ways, some see hugging and kissing as love, while other sees beating and punishment as love; for your own good in the future they might say, what is ur say on love?

My friend approach me, he is upset, coz his gf cannot spend time with him on his birthday. Her reason, coz there is a test 2 days after his birthday, so need to prepare. He dun see why he cannot make time for her when he can make time for her on valentimes day when he had test one day after Vday. He feels she treat her fren's better then her. Frens are more important then him...

Well, that spark my this blog... gets me questioning what is love? commitment? haha... its all very amusing, probably because I am a third party (not that i want to be in one, dun get me wrong...hahah) but really open my eye further on the vast-ness on this topic call LOVE....

Its it too late to apologise???

To all my dearest friends,

This blog entry is dedicated to all of you. I really have to say a very big Sorry, for all the outings I have missed so far. I kept complaining that we seldom meet up but in actual fact my life is so packed with school, assignments and all that I couldn't make time for anything else. I know all seems like an excuse I find to explain my absence, coz you managed time and not the other way round. But I guess I have been so tired rushing assignment, with work and all that I kinda schedule my day pretty much around this things, and honestly, time for myself is really during gym I guess. or my swim... And dun misunderstand, its not that I have time for sports and no time for frens... I have to squeeze them before work and class.

I will try to better handle my time so as to spend time with my friends... I am trying... really really hard... I seek your kind understanding...

Now I understand when some people say that 24 hours a day is not enough... yes indeed, but I honestly am not enjoying life now... this is not how life is to be spend... but for the better of my future life... have to tahan now... life is selfish, when u want something you have to sacrifices something else, you cannot have the best of all worlds, I am learning it the hard way...

Wants.... Fashion..... Body.....

Been thinking lately all the materialistic things I want when I start earning money... haha, hey we live in a materialistic world man... so I am just being me... hehez... well these couple of things just pops out presently...

#1 A Volkswagen beetle

I am not looking at the new type, but the really vintage type... Have a chance to ride in it once and am absolutely in love with the sound the engine makes, the whole feeling of it... Its a classic...

#2 Shibanu Dog (will let the pic speak for itself lah...)

Been watching a couple of shows featuring them and feel they are really adorable and well tempered, here are the links to the show if anyone is interested.

http://www.crunchyroll.com/group/CRSeries_-_All_About_My_Dog_-_Movie
http://www.crunchyroll.com/group/CRSeries_-_A_Tale_of_Mari_and_Three_Puppies_-_Movie

Best of all, suitable in HDB because of its size!!! (hahaha...)

So these are just a couple of things I can look forward to in the future... hehez... was watching Janice Dickinson Modelling agency yesterday, featuring many hot hot hot models, alot of hard work is actually required to become models, especially the guys, when they first got on and when they are already made a huge difference in terms of their body... Here is a random pic i took online to just show you what i mean... The whole idea about looking good in clothes, many would say as long you are confident you look good, its only half right, coz am sure physically its important too.

Something about yesterday show gave me a wake up call, the entire idea of putting myself through that 16 weeks of training suddenly came back to me again, its to stay healthy, bring up my fitness, and most importantly look good.

I know it seems a little early to be giving post journey thoughts, as I am still in my final week of training, which is pretty much screwed due too all the happening and unforgiving time schedules. (excuses excuses...hee...) But I have seen changes till my week 9 when i last post, since then results have been pretty minimal as my diet got into another roller coaster ride, and my regime was amended to a stage I feel ain't pushing myself hard enough. Nevertheless, this journey is fruitful as it builds me a rather steady foundation to carve the body I want.

Nothing in life comes free, even things within you, like your health and looking good, I dare say that staying fit is the cheapest things among any other things in life to achieve, its a matter of want or not rather than can or not. Was reading today urban, this guy have taliored close and all, but he didn't really look very smart coz he is not very fit, its not discriminating here, the worse is he blames it on work causing no time to workout. Exercise don't mean hitting the gym, pump iron till you are sore or getting yourself breathless from the treadmill. Everyone has their defination of that word and its the consience effort to perform them... that will see results. One more important time, its not all exercise, its important to control your mouth too, which i have not been successful thus far. Got this tip from a show actually, a fat man ask the guru how can he lose weight, and a skinny man ask the guru how can he gain weight, and he came out with a simple solution that solves both problem; which is "Control your mouth". How smart is that... hehez...

I know I have blabber alot about fitness this past weeks, and people are already getting bored with my blog on exercise, but hey, if it benefits me, it will benefits you guys too... trust me.. will post my pic next week, for the final time, Result ain't shocking (as i would want) but will continue to work hard. hehez... The feeling of acheivement is beyond words, you have to experience to know. hehez.

Lastly a fashion quote, ever wonder why clothes always seems better on someone else, apart from confidence, compliment what you wear too, its not all one sided you know... hehe... JIA YOU!!!

The Journey...

I am into my final week with this regime that i have posted.... Generally, I have seen the effect it has taken on my body, and honest am fitter than i was 16 weeks before, but sadly the result is not as ideal as I wanted... as the abs are still pretty minimal. But I cannot blame anything but myself, coz honestly through out this weeks, I was unable to control my diet. It did take a toll on my result. Guess I didn't want it hard enough... Oh well, not going to be dishearten... will continue to work hard and try to restrict on my diet a little better... balance is the KEY!!!!

A tip for a good diet: CONTROL THE MOUTH!!!! something that sounds simple but darn difficult to do in my context... hahaha

Friday, 5 Sept 2008, I cheated death, many have ask what that means in my blog, well, simply coz I really did cheated death, I was knocked down my a car while crossing the road. I dare say I wasn't at fault but the car was, coz i cross the road at the right time, but this turning car must have been not concentrating and came and ram-ed me from the side, its a new Honda civic light bronze-ish in colour... I was at the phone at that point of time and didn't know what strike me. What anger me the most was, the car actually reverse, waited for me to stand up and move aside, and drove off!!!! these entire time the blardy driver did not step out of the car, thats the least he could do... btw, the uncle was about 50ish-60, and being old is not an excuse you can knock people down and get away with it you know. My only regret was to no take down his number as I was still in a state of shock and before I knew it... he speed off already.

After that, It kept me thinking of many things, and how my life would already be over if the car was any faster, Lucky pehaps? I didn't suffer any external wound and just strained some muscles. The day went on feeling weird, everything did not feel really right... just the post trauma i guess. Its the second time I met accident at that corner, the first being in a bus which knocked down someone, also during a turn... OMG... scarily coincidental lah....

Anyway, my advise is, cherish your life, your love ones, coz you might think you always have tml to see them... its not really true if u dun take care....

Week 16... Cherish Life... bring it up a level...

Better man...

As fast as my emotion came, its left me pretty quickly too... just after my run before my muay thai training, was running at fort canning absorbing all the greeneries around me... Nothing ran through my mind to be honest, but just feel that there is nothing in these world that can really bother me at that time, if I am low, am sure there is someone lower then me... Life is mostly about want then can or not... if you set you eyes on something and you want it bad enough... you will get there one day... hehez... Amazing how positive I am, reading my previous post, I seem like a changed man...

I guess its like what i say... its a wave of emotions... sometimes its good sometimes it bad.... But I figured out my problem is probably I ponder over it too much... when i let go and concentrate on something else... the feeling goes away...

Back to me again... Winners don't quit, Quitters don't win (the Contender, 2008).... interesting quote...

Self Reflection...

Things have been pretty much a roller-coaster for me these days, someday I am fine, motivated, and ready to go. Yet some days, its just gloomy, emo, and hating it... I don't know why... I honestly don't. Its just becoming more frequent ever since the lost of my wallet. I know I shouldn't brood over it anymore coz there isn't really much point to it. Maybe its just an excuse I use to console myself on how I have been feeling lately. The mood have since taking effect on my brain, as I have the tendency to forget thing...

My fuse seems to be pretty short too... getting easily agitated with thing and people around me. Yet I know I have no right to do so... Hate my cockiness.. the know its all attitude... why can't i learn to be more humble. Why must I always have a say in everything. Why?!?!?! there i go again...

A getaway would be good... but where? I really donno... think I should go for one of those long runs again... to Harbourfront again perhaps? all I know is a good break from all these would be good, have an urge to go into isolation again... or maybe I just need some booze (but booze are not for vexed time... thats my motto... haiz...contridicting)

Its always easier when u are a third party to things... when u are involve many a things you advise on others you find can work on urself, then u start to wonder about the advise you gave... Like what I am going through how.. hahaha... ironic...

I have a mixed emotion of vex-ness, frustration, lost, tired, lonely even at times and they are so mixed up i dun even know what i am feeling right now... They come in waves, like when i said, must be one of the bad days... Am trying my best to loosen up... hopefully tonight Muay Thai session will be good...

Where I lies... I donno... but definately hoping to see light soon...

What has got into me lately i wonder....

Forget seems to get in the top of my "to do" list lately... but never intentionally, I am reliving the days when i am in primary 4 when my memory is super ultra poor, for no reason at all... Sorry if I did anything wrong people, in any way or what, really not intentional.

Its all started when I lost my wallet, and since then my life have been pretty topsy turvy, even my parents are worried. Have forgotten to turn off my computer after use for more then 3 times, and occasionally forget to lock the doors (or gate rather) when i go out... This is bad. I try asking myself why, but nothing seems to register.... There is like a cloudy covering everything in my brain, nothing strikes me... nothing at all....

Maybe a month away from home might help... go to places where I face nothing but sun sand and sea for a month... that would be nice, thou my schedule never allows me to do it... was thinking Phuket or Koh Samui.... This is not a running away from problem technique, i assure everyone... Just time away from the hussle and bussle i guess...

I tried talking to my mum about it... but the subject never really surface coz I donno whats wrong with me to begin.... The only time I can not think about all these is when I am working out... coz I deal with weights in gym, so i force myself to focus on them instead of my mind, dangerous to be distracted man... Thats why I enjoy working out so much i guess. My cheapest way to escape.

Was listening to radio yesterday and 90.5fm and the dejay left some words of wisdom before he ends his shift... he says "The greatest change will happen when one stop thinking about having to change" been pondering about that the entire night after that, adding to my already crowded mind... haha...

Alright, collect race pack... then heading off hopefully will get my mind off... thou I dun see any chance... hehez... Have a great weekend ahead everyone!!!

New Runners!!!

Despite all the loss I have made recently, I still decided to buy myself a decent pair of runners, as both pairs of Asics seem to be so heavily battle wounded. So.... LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!!!! INTRODUCING.... SAUCONY PROGRID TRIUMPH 5!!!!

The colour I bought cannot be found on the web site, so I had to use a different colour but the model is the same.A shoe recommended by the owner (who is also a runner) when I told him what kind of a runner I am and what kinda foot I possess. Sounds confusing? Well, if you have been running long enough, you will discover a pattern you usually run, like I have posted awhile back about running styles, if your heels land first, u are a heel footer runner, and if the ball of the feet lands first, you are a fore-footer runner. There is plently more but this is the fundamental, there is also the shape of your foot and stuff, its alot of knowledge actually. Alot of fun to find out so that you get the right shoes, its important, why? coz its matters not only to your ankle, but will also affect all joints, such as your knee, hip and even your spine.

Have not go for a run in this pair of shoes yet, well considering I only bought it yesterday. Will feedback on how it is once I have tried it. But I just got to know it is rated "Best Shoe" in 2008 by Runner's World UK. Hmm, impressive, but how does it work on an Asian? hehe... shall try to find out... anyone interested to go for a test run with me in my new shoe just give me a call k.... hahah say like majiam new car going out for a spin like that... heez... But hey I am serious, light run, just give me a call!!! good training for those taking part in stand chart... hehe... *hint hint* hee

Rotton week.....Terrible...

This past week have been everything but fantastic... Freaking low on luck and all man... It really makes me wonder why... Been trying hard to find the light within the dark clouds but each time i see some, the cloud thicken and comes every darker.... Bottomline is... ITS A FUCKED UP WEEK! PERIOD!!!

Its all a series of unfortunate events... call it unlucky, dumb, careless, whatever... just sucks... First unlucky thing was to leave my BodyShop shower/shampoo in a public toilet. FYI it was a new bottle, just took it out from the draw that very morning. But since it was a small bottle, I felt the pinch but was alright... Midweek, the killer, my wallet got stolen... yes STOLEN!!!! but I cannot blame the thief also, guess my carelessness made the job easier for him... all I could recall was I was about to gym and used the toilet before changing for gym... and left my bag with a whole gang of soccer boys around...LIKE DUH!!!! thou not hinting anything lah... there were others around too... just me being dumb lah... alot of stuff lost... and needs to be replaced... especially all my cards... Total damage for the loss- $150 close to 200 without including wallet, coz i have just topped up all my cards (ezlink, cashcard, etcz) within. ARGH!!!!!!

Today, got all the replacement cards, went to activate them... and guess was too gan chiong... end up all the card got suspended coz of too many attempts... so have to send in slip of acknowledgement and wait for reactivation within 1 to 2 working days... FARK LAH!!!!

Call me supersitious or whatever lor... but I think my locks (refering to my hair) was my luck... coz after cutting it, nothing good seems to be happening. EVERYTHING SUCKS!!! either that or just someone out there is jealous that I am living life the way I want... and is determine to make me SUFFER!!! It sucks... but am gonna fight... if they think they got me... think again... I am coming back stronger... unless u kill me... if not i will just come back better then ever... you just wait and see...

FUCK UP WEEK ALMOST OVER!!!! ONE MORE DAY TO GO... GOOD RIDDEN!!!!

Recipe for Happiness...

I know this doesn't not apply to everyone, but currently there isn't really nothing much to complain about to be honest. I believe this is due to the 2 things I have in life now... sports and music... simple isn't it? seems like something everyone can get? its true...

Firstly on sports, I am indeed making good use of the time I have currently since I am studying... to really cope with workout, work as well as studies. As many of my "working friends" would say, I am still not in the "real" world, when I start working, that's the "real" world. But hey, everyone have their own take on what the "real" world is, and I must say currently, mine ain't that "fake". The workout I have been following thus far seem to be helping me pick up to my past. stamina is building up and strength is slowly but surely improved, my mind is constantly sharp and I must say the feeling its good. According to science, exercise makes one feels happy, for all those that have doubts on it... let me tell you IT IS TRUE, but not exactly while you exercise, its after that is the part where "happiness" kicks in. After a good workout, you endured with all the pain and you struggle to catch your breath... you feel strangely refresh and all ready to go again... thou you might not look forward to workout ( I do have a fair share of those moments too) but honestly, all it takes is that one step, START, and you will see what I mean.

Now to music, I have recently move back to listening classical music while I am on the move (thanks to dear's MP3 player with FM radio) and I must say it can been really calming, despite all the noise surrounding you. Unlike songs with lyrics, classical music gives off a different vibe and its really up to your own interpretation. What i mean is for instance a sad song in chinese or english can be felt by the singer and the lyrics if its really well done, and there is only one thing you can really feel when hearing it, sad. But for classical music a sad tune expresses more then just sadness, to a certain degree, there is a certain amount of calming effect and would occasionally have strange twist to it, like a sudden parade going by and stuff like that... you know (am sure that those that have classical background understands what I am talking about) So yeah... Listening to it can be really calming... which i really enjoy...

So my conclusion on happiness, great workout with a touch of great music... life cannot be better then that honestly...

Great words from Zhuang Zi, the show I watch a few week back, talking about life... and people perspective of things really got me thinking and broaden my horizon in looking at things.First on life, he shares a story talking about a couple of brothers staying on the 80th floor of this huge skyscrapers, so there was this once they both came back with a heavy baggage, and the lift was spoil, and it was late so they had to get home, so readily, the started climbing the stairs. By the time they reach the 20th floor, they were exhausted and decided to leave the bags on the 20th floor so that once the lift was working they would come back to collect it. So now, lighten off load, they started climbing once again. They tired out at the 40th floor again... this time, they had an argument, and started blaming each other for things and all, while they carried on climbing. When they reach the 60th floor, they were both too tired to even open their mouth to quarrel, so quietly the finish climbing the last 20 floors. Eventually when they got to their apartment on the 80th floor, they were as good as dead, then as they reach to open the door, they realised they have left the keys to the house in one of the compartment of the bag the left on the 20th floor.

This story reflects everyone's life... when we are young we are all raring to go... like the brother first was when the embark on their journey, bagging with them their dreams, ambitions, driving force. as time goes and they age, those dreams and all seems to get heavier and turns to burden, so they leave them off... and embark on just getting to the destination, so off came the load like what they did on the 20th floor, and they embark again.... and later when you get much older, politics argument arise, you start to feel the need to have power and all which is what happen from 40 to 60s, and but that age, you feel that your time as past, so you just let things happened and live life just trying to get by... and when you reach 80, you look back in life and realized you have so much regret, and have left many important things that you planned to do in life. like how the brother left the house keys on the 20th floor, those dreams and ambitions together... Doesn't this story share so much about life.... got me thinking... maybe those who reads this might wanna share your views after much tot... I feel it really made sense....

Oh well, thats about life, I guess that enough to get people to think, I have another on perception i would love to share, maybe in my next entry... For now... I leave you with this to ponder... is life all about working... do we really wan to be like the norm, the brothers? off to gym.... Cheers!!! have a great weekend people!!!

Half way there.... Almost...

This week marks the 8th week, at the end of this week, I would be halfway pass the regime that I have been following. Honestly the Spartan week was not to be mess with, really planned for fit people, and I AM NOT FIT LAH!!! hahaha but I survive, through alot of determination, hopefully bringing my fittness up a whole new level.

For those that cannot get me yesterday on my phone, forgive me as I made a big blunder. I send a few of my jeans to alter as ther are really getting super baggy, yes, those are recent jeans, not the 42" ones anymore, so yes trying to get them more fitting. The thing was that I tried to put my HP and wallet into one particular pair of jean so that the seamstress knows how much she can chop off that pair of jean without making it too tight. After that I remember to take out my wallet but not my HP, so yeah... i left it there and only realise it much later when I was going to catch a movie with dear, when i wanted to switch my phone to silent mode... STUPID right?

Oh well this morning went to collect it. Thx god Singapore is not very big... hehehez... and went for my swim at a new pool, BEDOK!!! Verdict, not bad for old pple lah... hahaha coz there is ALOT... nothing wrong... dun get me wrong... it good to see old pple making the effort to stay healthy. The pool itself had some history lah... but honestly could use some cleaning up liao... Did my 10 lap free style and another 5 breaststroke/freestyle... got to work the stamina man...

Here is this week's schedule, no more circuit... back to resistance, hmm seem highly dependent on the aerobic ball, which i dun have... so I must make do with someother thing I guess, here you go... for those that have been following this same regime as me... I wish you all the best... we survive 7 weeks and just halfway more to go.... Sacrifies need to be made to see results... JIA YOU

Something is wrong with the video... so i am just going to post the routine...

Not a spartan but i did 300!!!

This week's workout is definately no joke, it may seem simple, but honestly with so many weeks of conditioning, I am totally shagged out after each of these sessions man. I always love to spice up my workout lah... of course I do not purely do those regime, here is what I have been doing. Depending on the time of my workout the regime is as follows:-

Day workout (usually about 11am onwards)

As its super hot!!! i usually start with 15mins of skipping, then the regime, for this week its the SPARTAN home workout, but I choose to do it at a exercise ground near my area. Once that is done, will end off my session with 10 X 100 m lap swim at the pool.

Evening (usually late, 10ish? quieter)

Short run around the neighbourhood, about 15 to 20 mins, 15 mins skipping, then the regime. No swimming.

Seems tough? Yes for some but I guess if you want results you have to push ba... beside the rest apart from the regime is done on my own pace, so no issue on that. But yah, thats has been my regime lor. Pretty amazed with myself to be able to follow till today, many a times giving up seems extra tempting, like oh, muscle ache lah, super hot lah... you name it... then I think of the number of weeks I have already passed so yah, just grab my stuff and go!!! heez... its cultivated, never an easy journey, but once you get on it... its trains you strong man!!! For those taking their first step on workout, my advice is, stick to it! Endure and it will show results...

As for those that say, wah work lah, not time to workout, make daily activites a workout, exercise does not mean doing what i do, walking is exercise, climbing the stairs is exercise. Exercises is really hidden in every corner of our daily life, so rather then feeling gulity that you have no been working out, make effort to convert daily activities to workout, and with abit of adjustment to your diet, and you have nothing to worry about.

I realise the problem with many working class in Singapore after they start working is the made rush, the always no time, so they rush to work, sit, rush to lunch, rush back, sit till off work. This is how fat builds, rush yes can be seen as brisk walk in exercise term, but to lunch, then rush through lunch, causing indigestion, or worse cause ur metabolism to not able to handle so much at a time, which in turn filters into fat faster, then rush back and sit... Notice how the tummy just evolves... Work is never ending, lunch is a break from the fast pace and also a time to rest. Make the best use of it.

Well, I mean I am also guilty of it lah, but am trying very hard to work things out and tell myself to slow down, now at least i chew my food, i used to swallow my food, super bad which is why i balloon to a 106kg. So lesson learn. I think everyone should to... Yes we work for a living, but at the rate we go but the time we earn "enough" many of the money will go to medical cost because we are all not taking good care of ourselves... it is all worth it?

Happy working out lah!!! heez...

Hairy Situation!!!

As most people that have seen me recently would know that I have pretty long locks now... got comments like John Lennon, and going back old school with beetles look, thats how long it is... I have not much issue with the length, thou my natural curls are well... not exactly very easy to manage, if i comb it straight, with those curls, i look like a mascot for OMEGA (you know the watch) hahahaha yes...

But I am still determined to keep it long so here is one suggested pic that I am considering, if i cannot beat it, why dun I join it... do give me feedback, or if there is other styles feel free to msg me alright!!! I could used somemore opinions here... Thx
