Brunei!!! was it worth it...

Haha, realised that i haven't posted any picture from my brunei trip... haha well... all that matter, other that the wonderful experience i gained, the food seemed to have take a blow on my waistline, or my weight as well... I GAINED 2KG!!! thats not the worse part... the worse part is its seems that i have lost all determination to lost them... all i can think of is food all day, and when i went running just know, i cannot believe the number of times the word "Quit' appeared before me man... haiz... i really missed all the determination i had a year ago... Argh please come back....

Well, i guess its not going to come back simply by me whinning on it... but lucky thing is i am already doing something about it... haha formulate a plan, and now all i have to do is to stick to it...
Ok enough on the weight thingy... here are some of my brunei photos....

Some pre-departure photos with my buddies in camps...

Arrived at brunei... passed the diplomat custom man... haha the officer was giggling away when i took the pic, wonder wat so farnie... and TEAM SINGAPORE!!! nice pic really like it....

The many rehearsal we did in brunei for the big event as well as the street parade... the sun was scorching and its 1 to 2 degree hotter than Singapore....

Some Indonesian frens i made in brunei, The Indonesia drumline, note the keyword is drumline, which already comprises of 60 + people, that exclude their band... their entire contingent comprises of at least 120. the biggest for this tattoo... Lastly, a picture of us in action...

And this is the street parade at night... marching down the main street with alot of people watching the feeling is superb... like chingay in singapore but there is no barrier btw us and the crowd...

There is plenty more... but guess i will share it with you guys some other day i guess... haha just looking through all this photos brings back tonnes of memories man.. haha alright then thats all
Cheers

All good things must come to an end...

Nothing beats sitting at home, sipping on hot chocolate, and using computer, blogging the night away... been waiting for this day for 2 years already... and finally it here, the beginning to my new chapter of life as i close my chapters of army life and regain civilian status...

Yesterday evening spent my final evening in bunk, and was later asked to play soccer, which i cannot reject coz there wasn't really another time i could play... Could say i was pretty on form last night, scoring many goals (at both ends. haha) but well, the night didn't end of in a good note as we stopped as i sprained my leg as i chased the ball... heard the crack and i knew something wasn't right... Sat there holding on to my ankle for awhile before the rest of the guys come to my aid... As i return to bunk limping, everyone have a worried look on their faces, wondering if i can still make it for the parade (my last parade). Applied some deep heat cream, put on my sock to keep it warm, i got into bed. Morning, the pain was a killer as i stepped of the bed and i literally drag my leg to the bathroom as I wash up. I put on double layer of socks just to give it a better cushion... Victor was so kind to give me a ride up to the white house, guess I would have collapse if i had to walk. Thx Victor... Anyway, lets not get too detailed, and just said i managed to survive the parade... there is some minor hiccups here and there but overall we survived... thou i limped out of the parade, but i am glad i endured through...got back to camp, finally settled some of the admin side with my leave and stuff...hear many farewells and best of luck from all the specialist... was kinda sad to be honest, cos i would definately miss everyone, guess the brunei trip did bring about a little closeness to all the guys in the band...

As i packed my stuff from the bunk, the new batch started bringing things into our bunk, taking over my bed and stuff... That scene really brought back tonnes of memories, when i was new batch doing that 2 year ago... haha everything seems really unreal indeed. As i leave camp, i never looked back, i took my time and every step i took, i glance around, like really see everything for the last time... the grounds i run in the evenings, the chin-up bars that i have overcome over time, and many many more...

All in all, what really ended my chapter in SAF band was the sincere thanks from my in-charge Staff Maswan. Really made all the effort i put in for the pass months as a bass drummer paid off...

Guess all good things really do come to an end, and as my life steps into a new chapter, I will not forget all the wonderful time i had in my NS life. I know not many people will say that about NS life, but mine was truely an unforgettable one. It fulfill many of my dreams, dreams like wearing the number one, performing for National day parade, going overseas, etc... THX ALOT...

Happy National Day!!!

Happy 41st Birthday Singapore!!! guess most people will be glued to the television watching the celebration now, haha and here i am blogging away, guess its for the fact that i have already got my share of the parade last year that i didn't find the need to watch it this year... haha today last year i was still wondering what its like to be, and now i know... as freedom is nearer to me... haha... This is kinda scaring me too... coz the question is right in my face now "WHAT AM I TO DO NEXT?"

I guess the day have been very bored for me the entire day... well i guess its gonna be like that unless i tink of something to do... i kept saying that i wan to plan, but nothing realistic is actually finalised.... I realise i kept saying life seems to become very colourless, but the main factor that seems to be causing this is not really the people around me, but the problem lies with me instead. Its is I who make life seems so hard to bear, I who is lazy to venture out and try new things... Can anyone please tell me how am I to solve this problem? haha strangely i can point out the problem but no solution comes out... but its feels better that i have now define the problem and lettting it out... haha... I am thinking about working, but as what i am really not sure, but another part of me tell me i deserved a break from 2 years of band... go on a holiday, enjoy life... which i too plan to do, but will not be able if i start working... haha guess planning will really have to come soon...

Was looking back at some of my army photos and photos i have been taken this past year or so... i must say photos are really still memories of life... as they really brought me back in time to those times bitter sweet moments for the past year... Guess i am really gonna miss those moments in army, the running sessions at night, the slacking in bunk moments... haha... Well, been watching the march pass of this year NDP too... haha alot of memories too... i am glad the chapters of my life is so colourful... hopefully i could do something about the future ahead... heez.. alright then... guess thats all for today will blog over the weekend...

Oh yah, I will be doing probably my last parade for the SAF band this sunday, the Change of Guards parade, so if you guys are free please do come down and support k... haha parade starts 5, will be there by probably 3 plus.... haha so do come coz i guess that would be my last time in my smart uniform... haha Cheers!!!

I AM BACK!!!

Hey there guys!!! I am finally back and blogging... heez. forgive me for not blogging the minute i got home... Well the thing is, my com kinda crashed on me after putting in all the photos i took in brunei... so yah, lost quite abit of information from the formatting, yah... lucky thing is all my photos are save, so not all is lost...

Anyway, lets just update on the happenings of my absence, We recieved alot of feedback from the top that brunei end sent alot of good feedbacks, and the rest of the bandmens that are left in Singapore have been talking about our achievements. This make all the hardwork that we have gone through in Brunei worth it. Now i am pretty much in the "ORD" mode, where the specs have already loosen their hold on me, and its offically time for me to clear my off... Just had my dental checkup today, and got a recommendation to get my wisdon tooth extracted, 4 of them to be specific, appointment is next week for my Xray and stuff... hope everything goes smoothly...

Apart from that, there isn't really much i can put in, oh, just had another one of the section outings with my flute gang last weekend, intro to them some of my old hangout when i used to work... haha brought back lotsa memories... hopefully everyone enjoyed themselve...can tell some of them didn't but well thats what happen when there is too many pple i guess... haha not always the right crowd... heez... anyway nothing much to put liao... Wishing Singapore a happy 41st Birthday!!! in advance that is..... Cheers

Hi from Brunei!!!

I guess most pple are surprised to hear from me online... but here i am in my hotel lobby using my fren's laptop and the hotel's wireless to blog... Btw, I am in brunei just in case you are wondering where i am... hahaha

Guess i will just briefly go through the our activities here... everyday we have 3 very splendid meals in the hotel, the food here is meant to be for kings man i tell you... so worried that i will just get fat all over again but i just couldn't resist coz everything tasted so good... okok enough about food... schedules on practise is pretty pack... there isn't much time for us to have free time, most of the time is spent traveling from one practice ground to another... and there are combine practises with all the participating band almost every night at the stadium so that we give the best performace to the king... Its throughly an eye opener, and really really tiring reaching back to the hotel only at night, close to mid night. The weather is very hot here and very humid too... making training very unbearable. But still, being an army trip, endurance is all we can do.

Tml will be the final of our rehearsal before we head the the actual performance, 4 in a row, very tiring... but guess actual willl always be more fun with the crowd around... Anyway, i guess thats all i have... more to come if i have the chance to come online again... will update you guys again... MISS YOU ALL!!!

Woohoo without realising it, my ORD function is already over, haha sadly i didn't prepared well enough for it as I was only informed that it was mine the day before... so kinda regret not being able to thank everyone and gave a proper speech... but i am so contented of the reception i got when going up to collect my token of appreciation, those cheers and applauses i got really made the 2 years of my army career a good one. Never will i forget each and everyone that made my SAF band life such an exciting journey. Hopefully this Brunei trip will be a roaring success so as to add a beautiful full stop to my army life...

Anyway, still at the ORD function, so sorry to those that i wanna thank but totally slipped of my mind, its not that you are forgotten, its just that when i got up there and see the many pairs of eyes staring at me, my mind just blanked out... so sorry, but shall say here ba... special thanks to Tuan Hao, my junior for awhile before i was made bass drummer, erm all my soccer kakis like Hak, Shawn, Ivan, Eric, etc... All the stay in personel, all the hot gossips we share in our bunks, all the "incredible tale moments" really gonna miss that... The PAs taking over me, Azre and Victor, hopefully you guys have learned all that i have taught, if not you all can turn to mervin i am sure he knows a great deal too... erm... my gyming buddies, Zhi Xun (ORD: Sashi, Gerald, Wen Xiong) Andy and all those from central band like kelvin chua, Sin etc. And all the drivers that have send me up and down the white house. The hole is turning to a bottomless pit!!!

OMG, just as i thought my shopping craze is coming to an end, i was wrong, as its a taking a new turn, a new beginning... have been purchasing alot of stuff and my bank account is really depleting fast... really hope the brunei allowance will come sooner to cover some damage done to my account... Currently there is another item on my list on the "to buy" list... argh... and the cycle continues...

Let me briefly walk through my weekend, its a pretty long weekend i have to say, having thursday halfday (due to an early parade). Anyway, friday went to gym for a little workout, been slacking off the past few weeks and could really feel the effect its had on me man... my muscles still sore from the workout till today. After that, went down town to walk around, simple window shopping, or so i thought... haha ended up buying a pair of shades (from ALDO). Bumped into this surveyor, a girls that is probably my age or slightly younger... help her to do a survey, judging from the question it seems like a school project, but then again i maybe wrong. Anyway, the interesting is she noticed my shades (I was in my adidas shades, which shields my eyes away from the crowd) and commented saying "you look cool in those shade" with a blushing grin to end off... haha, I am not sure if she is trying to hit on me... maybe its just me, but it certainly made my day... haha, easily contented yah?

Well, as i was getting bored in town and just as i was about to make my way home, my friend called asking me to meet him to collect some facial products. So after collecting, we make our way to PS where he took his dinner, and we walked around... saw a pair of berms that i like, size abit big, but fits me alright with a belt at least... Didn't buy its there and then, but kept me thinking about it, so i went back the next day and got it instead... haha the we walked past SK jewellary, and a ring caught my eyes, so the sale personel recommended me to get another at a cheaper rate... Anyway, something very funny happened there and then, which i don't wanna get into too much of a detail and will remain a secret with me lah... In the end i got both the rings... and that concludes my friday.

Saturday, was thinking whether or not to go paddling... but a phone call kinda made a choice for me and i didn't as i met Sherine in town instead... did some window shopping (REAL window shopping this time, till maybe when i got the berms...heez) and sherine did her shopping... thou its a short trip but i guess we both enjoyed ourselves... Haha sherine was like my "shopping devil" cause she kept tempting me to buy stuff... but well for good reasons too lah, coz i look good in them... Many a times, I was going to take out my wallet... but i put it right back as i know i have already broken my limit for the month... Saving for my overseas trip ahead man. Well in the evening, met up with the rest of the flute gang and we caught Pirates of the Carribean, for those that have not caught the movie, a word of advise, watch the first movie before you catch this, as there is many links and you wouldn't like the movie coz you will be lost half the time... I find that its pretty nice, and i am looking forward to part 3 already... heez...After that, we chilled out at TCC before calling it a night...

Thats about it for my weekend i guess, as you can now see why my hole in the pocket have turned into a bottomless pit, as there is plenty of item still on my "to buy" list. Haiz... when will this madness end, i wonder? haha Money money money... please come and solve all my sorrows... lolx... crapping about... anyway enjoy the rest of whatever weekend left lah... i will be home licking my wounds on my burnt pocket, at the same time savour the prizes of my shopping trips.. *evil grin*
